The Mountain View’s were beautiful and the walking track varied from easy to difficult. The town was very pleasant, clean and well taken care of. The pools were wonderful and especially enjoyed being able to swim laps in the big pool which was never crowded. Overall it was a very pleasant place for a vacation

Hanmer Springs is lovely.
Hanmer Springs is lovely. This motel overpriced, cheap and nasty. False advertising using "premium".
Hanmer is popular but don't resort to booking at this motel if you find others booked out.

Nice small village with plenty to do.
Nice small village with plenty to do. Many walking and bike trails, nice shops and the Thermal pools were great for all ages. Plenty to keep families amused.
The whole town had a nice vib.
The down side would have to be the cost of eating out at the cafes and restaurants.

Great thermal pools.
Great thermal pools. My wife booked had two sessions in the spa rooms - a facial and a massage - while she was doing that I ventured on the new waterslides (at the age of 71) - they are now included in your admission charge. As we we were staying for two nights, we booked a two day ticket to the pools, this is good value and it's great to be able to pop to the pools early in the morning when there are fewer people around.
One evening we had a good meal at the Hanmer Springs Hotel (where we stayed), the second night we tried the Spice Village Indian restaurant, which I thoroughly recommend.
Great lunch one day at the Powerhouse cafe - by far the best cafe in Hanmer in my opinion.
We also went on the quad bikes at Hanmer Attractons - we were able to choose a quad buggy which is a two-person vehicle. This is well organised, with an instructor/guide who puts the emphasis on safety.

The hot springs are a must - beautifully landscaped... pricey but good discount for over 60s! So many walking trails here - need to come back. Eating options all a bit same same - but plenty of them.
Comfortable suite with a terrace facing really pretty gardens and the mountains beyond. Comfy king bed. Huge bathroom supplied with lots of towels and toiletries. Some cooking facilities. Microwave, kettle, toaster, dishes, cutlery.
Quite clean and efficient. Walking distance to town and hot pools. Hanmer Springs is a sweet town with lots of nice restaurants, bars and shopping. Access to hiking is fabulous. We did Mt Isobel... gorgeous views!! The information centre is very helpful. Definitely would recommend that you stay here.
Beautiful chalets set on a hill just outside the town. We appreciated all the extra touches. The owner was very friendly. The newspaper was delivered each morning. The kitchen had an oven, 2 tea towels and a hand towel. What we really loved were the individual reading lights at each bed, rare to find in most motels. Each chalet had a washing line and there was a laundry area we could use. The water was hot, the WiFi worked well and we had great views and one amazing sunset. Highly recommend.
This is an excellent motel with everything you need for a great stay in Hanmer Springs. Only a short walk from the pools and they will give you a towel to take with you.
The rooms have really comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, and it feels very homely. Ella was very welcoming and had lots if great tips of what to do and where to eat.
Excellent value for money and we’ll definitely stay again.
The size of the suites are very spacious and so is the ensuite. The bathrooms were designed with luxury in mind and have plenty of space for a couple to use together.
The location to Hanmer Springs is good and the views from the room is absolutely beautiful.
The buffet breakfast is very good and if this wasn't included in our room rate I would have scored much lower on price versus value.
I always wanted to stay at this hotel since we came here when I was a lot younger and was disappointed hearing that it had being refurbished. Luckily the refurbishment progress managed to keep the old style look I remember it having, even keeping the fireplaces !! One of the best night's sleep I have had for a long time. Friendly staff and would love to revisit in the future.
Great central location for Hanmer Springs village - you won’t need your car while in town. The hotel is a good, skip and a jump from the pools, restaurants, shops and walking trails.
We loved our spacious room, comfortable, large bed and a lovely sunny terrace to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.
Continental breakfast was nice too. A good stay. We’d come again :)
We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The room was homely. The shower room/toilets were also clean and orderly. The views outside were very pleasant. We usually stay in the holiday homes and for the same price, would have got an entire house, but the bonus of the cabins is that we did not have to clean on departure :)
The room size and appointment, the spa bath on the deck and in the bathroom, most comfortable bed, great views and quietness, good breakfast. It takes 10 min by car to the Thermal pools at Hanmer Springs, and we needed a car anyway to get to the lodge from the airport (it's about 200 km to the nearest airport)
A full buffet breakfast both cooked and continental. Exceptionally good value considering it was included in the price.
Our studio room was very spacious. Good parking
We were greeted at reception by our Philipino host who was superbly welcoming.
We highly recommend Hanmer Springs Retreat.
Great place surrounded by forest, reminded me of school trips as a kid! Cabins are basic but cheap, kitchens are spacious and very well equipped. Many showers and toilets, you never need to wait. Close to walking tracks. We had a great time.
Beautiful place to stay, the views are outstanding. Great location for visiting the main centre of Hanmer Springs. Dave & Jill were very welcoming and providing a lot of useful information about the local area.
What a pleasant surprise. We though staying in the forest camp cabins would be roughing it but found that it more than was satisfactory. We made use of the communal kitchen which had everything we needed.
Car parking available. Close to hot pools and central hanmer springs. Quite a big unit with 2 bedrooms and study area. Dishwasher and oven good kitchen. Washing machine and dryer present.
The hotel management is very nice
Our room been having lights on and heater on when we arrived, it’s cold now in the night time in winter
So we’re very happy and thankful with that
Lovely character heritage home just a 5 minute walk to the hot pools. We had one of the cottages, very clean and quiet. Lovely hostess! Wish we had stayed longer.
