Vry pleasant small country town set in the hills of the Midi...
Vry pleasant small country town set in the hills of the Midi Pyrenees. River running through the centre - promotion of water sports such as kayaking.. town bridges bedecked with flowers and river walk ways. Very impressive viaduct. Good rail connections to Montpelier or to Beziers. The Passa Pais by bike is another very enjoyable option going from Bedarieux through to Mazamet on the old railway line now converted to a pedestrian and cycle friendly route! We well look forwar to a return visit!

The area is wonderful, you have the lovely rivers for a swim...
The area is wonderful, you have the lovely rivers for a swim, the gorges for rock climbing, swimming, etc., all the walks in the national park and cycle routes. There are so many wineries in the area you're spoilt for choice! Some of the restaurants in the medieval towns are just so picturesque. It's so very French and not as touristy as some of the better known spots. If you use Avène cream brand, that village and natural source is right by Bédarieux! Even the beaches are only 45mins away, long stretches of sand and beach bars. So many sports and clubs in the area, horse riding, fishing, karting, kayaking, etc. Great for families.

This would be excellent especially for cyclists and walkers. There is a walk of approximately 25 minutes to the centre of the town of Bedarieux. Moulin Gaillard is formed from an ancient and fascinating mill. I had an amazing view of Le Pic de Tantajo directly from my room. I would recommend the evening meals. The host, Mnsr Martin, provides an excellent meal. Mnsr Martin, is very friendly and helpful. A very genial host.

Best described as a 'Commercial Hotel'. I stopped off there going and then rebooked for my return from near Beziers in the South. That says it all really. Good choice of breakfast for the extra 10€ too. RecommendedAngmering PeaUnited Kingdom
