We were visiting family in Winscombe and found the Woodborough Inn to be perfectly placed in the town on the main road, which although busy, gets quiet in the evening. Close to interesting places and stunning views, it's well located to explore the local area. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly and everything was explained to us clearly. We did eat in the resident's bar area, the food was very reasonably priced and tasty. Breakfast was hot, served promptly and well presented. Our room had plenty of space, was very clean and comfortable with an amazing, huge, ensuite bathroom. We explored the National Trust tunnel, Shute Shelf, and enjoyed a wonderful walk through the Mendip Society, Slader's Leigh. Beautiful!! The Strawberry Line is a disused railway line, just five minutes away, which is a brilliant walk as it is on the level!!!
Offering a terrace and garden view, The Loft at Pen Orchard is set in Winscombe, 28 km from Bristol Temple Meads Station and 28 km from Bristol Cathedral.

The bed was so comfy and the futon beds worked wonderful for the kids. Staff were really helpful and provided us with what we needed. Room had hair dryer and kettle etc. We were given room on ground floor which was good as we had three kids with us plus luggage.

Staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was clean with nice little touches like a personalised welcome note and some sweets to enjoy! I ate in restaurant and the food was delicious, they were offering a 2 course Spring menu which had enough choice to make it a good option for my 2 night stay.

WINSCOMBE IS A FAIRLY SMALL VILLAGE BUT HAS SEVERAL PLACES TO EAT OR GET TAKE AWAYS. THERE'S A DECENT SIZED CO-OP TO GET SUPPLIES. WE CHOSE THE PROPERTY AS WE WERE GOING TO VISIT THATCHERS CIDER FARM 2 MILES AWAY. THATCHERS GAVE A LOVELY GUIDED TOUR, I RECOMMEND IT. LOTS TO SEE AND DO IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. WE VISITED TYNTESFIELD HOUSE A NATIONAL TRUST PROPERTY NEARBY AND CANNINGTON WALLED GARDEN WHICH WAS BEAUTIFUL. LOVELY WALKS AT YOUR DOORSTEP AND PLENTY MORE THINGS TO DO. WE ATE 2 NIGHTS AT THE WOODBOROUGH INN AND ONCE AT THE WINDMILL AT THATCHERS CIDER FARM AND ENJOYED THEN ALL.

Warm and welcoming cheerful staff excellent range of food...
Warm and welcoming cheerful staff excellent range of food and drink large comfortable luxurious rooms with shower and bath why not stay here rather than a cheap airport hotel very close to Bristol Airport but without the noise
The hotel itself is a sightseeing, as it is very nicely designed with a lot of small details. So interior of the room and the pub on the first floor is gorgeous. All the stuff is nice and welcoming. The breakfast on the pub is 10 from 10 and the place is very charming. Highly recommended. Convenient for visiting Cheddar Gorge, Bristol and Bath.
We booked this property as were doing the thatchers cider tour. It was a 30minute walk from the cider tour, but there is a bus that runs every hour!
Plenty of bedrooms and beds, lovely home. Nice kitchen and living area. Was nice and clean in the bathrooms with clean towels etc. Lovely little cul de sacc close to shops and pubs in Winscombe.
Nice large room , immaculate decor , everything nice and clean and very well maintained.
Room planning great notably eg both hairdryer and mirror easy to hand , a failing of so many hotels. Superb shower.
Breakfast was also excellent and proprieter on hand providing first class service.
The location was very good, central to Winscombe village where my daughter lives. Compact, but everything you need for a short stay. Warm welcome by host.comfortable bed. Excellent views.
Very good correspondence with host, both before and during stay.
Never stayed there before but we will be staying there again in the future. They must have the happiest and friendliest staff of any hotel I've stayed in. Plus they were all British. Good food, very clean, plenty of free parking.
Large room at back of hotel with integrated children’s room meant it was quiet and peaceful.
Huge bath, lots of space, fridge and iron.
Staff were lovely and food was good.
