We stayed in Charlottesville for two days and there was so much more to do!
Nature: Charlottesville is an amazing place for the casual to intermediate nature enjoyer. There is ample opportunity in hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty, one even passes by Monticello.
Feeling: Charlottesville is a welcoming place. It's a college town with a lot of history, and you tend to find that the people there are involved in the community and it seemed as though anyone could find an event for them.
Restaurants: There are several amazing restaurants that Charlottesville has to offer - Bodo's Bagels (Pastrami Bagel with Muenster Cheese, Mustard, and Raw Onion), The Whisky Jar (Chicken Skin Burger), Umma's (Korean Fried Chicken), and Marco and Luca Dumplings (fried dumplings) were just a few of the culinary highlights of our trip.
All in all, if anyone has the chance to visit Charlottesville and you are the type of person, or people, who enjoy nature, historic towns, quirky shops, eclectic food choices, and an overall relaxed, laid back feeling, go to Charlottesville already!

We only had two nights in Charlottesville.
We only had two nights in Charlottesville. I think we could have easily spent another couple of days. We spent 6 hours at Monticello and could have still gone back for more. We spent an afternoon walking on The Mall, which is the historic Main Street that was pedestrianized. There were so many great shops and restaurants we could have enjoyed the change to visit more of them. There were also great music venues but we didn't get a chance to see any shows.

We were there for a Track meet at UVA.
We were there for a Track meet at UVA. Very close to the university and historic downtown area. Visit to Monticello was excellent and only about 15 mins away. Traffic was a bit congested but was manageable but showed the robustness of the area. On way home drove threw Shenandoah valley. A must. Spectacular views.

The rooms were clean, the bed were great.
The rooms were clean, the bed were great. It was hard to watch TV when not in bed, there was only a desk chair in the room. The restaurant was handled by one man who was also the bartender and the cook. He did a fantastic job, the food was excellent and there was little wait time. He was most welcoming and he was the highlight of our stay.

We toured Montecello, the Trump Winery, the Downtown Mall area, and traveled to Ruckersville and Stanardsville to visit the little shops and antique stores. Getting around Charlottesville was a little hectic because there seemed to be a lot of construction and the roads were a little difficult to navigate due to unusual lane patterns. The mountain area is beautiful.

Good food at The Whiskey House (?) Restaurant.
And of course...the mansions. Beautiful views and such a deep touch to our nation's history! These politicians, even tho slave holders, at least had class. And understood the timing to make change happen.
And lived w/ in those attitudes.
Sleep Inn was affordable, clean ,busy, well maintained and convenient! TY for great hot waffles! And a comfie bed.

Flame and Raven are very friendly, explain everything and are very involved in making sure guests have a good stay. As a result of various delays on the road we didn't get to Charlottesville until 12:30 AM but they still met us when we got in and showed us around. The guesthouse is exactly that - their house, so the experience is different from staying in a hotel, but we liked it. Location is good, assuming you have your own car you are only a few minutes' drive from the center of Charlottesville.
The property is super clean and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable and have much room for a few travelers.
Mary is the key to this property. Her attention to detail and helping us with our every need was a huge plus! She assisted us with sheets and blankets for the pullout bed, check us in and out with care, as well as helped us with our luggage into the hotel.
Give Mary some love!
I stay here often when I visit Charlottesville. The location is excellent, parking plentiful ( and parking is challenge in the downtown area), the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
I requested a room with a view of the mountains and was very happy that the staff complied with my request even though the hotel was fully booked.
Breakfast was very good - wide selection of dishes to satisfy all tastes, and friendly service. The surroundings very good and all the menu selections were replenished regularly. Highly recommended.
The beds were big and comfortable and the bathroom was well sized.
The location of the hotel was close to shopping and services as well as transportation.
This hotel is in a great location for someone with a car who wants to be near the University of Virginia campus. It's a short drive to any of the local places. It's also near tons of restaurants and a pharmacy. The pillows on the bed were completely amazing. The included coffee machine worked and the air conditioner worked great.
Very pleasant stay. Great location. My wife and I very much enjoyed the shower, and the caramels in the mini bar were delicious. The bed was comfortable and there were multiple pillows. The robes were a nice touch, but it was unclear that if you wore them in the hotel if that cost 150 or if it was just if you took them home.
This was a good choice for one-night stay in Charlottesville. The room was spacious, light, and clean. There are several restaurants within a short ride from the hotel. The hotel did not offer a complimentary breakfast, but the breakfast buffet was very good (much to choose from and good quality) for its price.
This is a new hotel on the very north end of the Charlottesville metro. Breakfast options were good with plenty of hot options including a fried egg, scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. Location was good with a Target next door, and restaurant and grocery options within walking distance.
The Oakhurst is a cute little boutique hotel on the edge of the UVA campus. While you can't walk to downtown, it's a great location for the campus. It's stylish and the beds are comfortable. Free chilled water bottles in the shared sitting area were a nice perk.
This hotel is well presented and managed. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. and the public areas were very pleasant. The hotel is central to many different activities in the area, with lots of good restaurants nearby to finish the day at.
The hotel did a great job of accommodating our requests for two rooms close together and away from the construction going on at the hotel. The breakfast was better than I expected, and the service was terrific.
Great location on Charlottesville Downtown Mall with superb access to shopping, dining, entertainment. Big easily accessible parking garage. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Good location with a short walk to bars and restaurants, clean and comfortable rooms and easy to park at the hotel.
We didn't stop for breakfast but it looked good with a choice of options available.
This will be my regular stop for staying in Charlottesville from now on! ADORABLE efficiency apartment for a bargain price. Totally clean and beautifully scenic. We'll be coming back for sure!
We love CVille and Forest Lakes and this hotel is perfectly located for our visits. Rooms are and breakfast are great. We have been there second time already and we will come again.
We had a great stay at this hotel. Great location near to restaurants, cafes and grocery stores and only 15 mins walk into town. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
