The bar and good in the evening were very good, although service in the restaurant was slow as it was very busy for a weekday.

Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England town should look. It has adorable shops, a farmer's market, and some good restaurant options. We had delicious steak at the Hyde Away Inn, and beer at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Our stay at the Mad River Lodge was comfortable, in a lovely setting just outside of town. We were in the area for the Mad River Marathon, which is challenging, but scenic.

We loved the town, however we had a hard time finding businesses and restaurants that were actually open for business. This was partly due to COVID and also we visited on a Monday/Tuesday. We sadly learned that some of the establishments we wanted to visit were closed permanently or not opened due to the days of the week. We ended up having to go to the supermarket to purchase our dinner, because 3 of the restaurants we wanted to go to were closed for business, or closed at 8 pm, (we live in the city and an 8 pm close is unheard of) and we didn’t want to eat pizza or Chinese.... so we ended up at at the grocery store which also closed at 9.

Waitsfield was charming and centrally located for skiers. Close to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. Very good restaurants. I would highly recommend the Mad River Taste Cheese Shop for amazing cheeses, local products and great service!

Beautiful town nestled in the mountains of Vermont.
Beautiful town nestled in the mountains of Vermont. Check out Lawson's Brewery and Pub -- A new facility with exceptional beer and unique atmosphere. Consider staying at the nearby Tucker Hill Inn with comfortable cozy rooms, outstanding staff, and excellent food. Relax with a round of golf at the nearby Sugar Bush Golf Course which is absolutely beautifully maintained and well designed. The mountain views are spectacular. Waitsfield is worth your time to visit!

Winding our way over mountains and through the forests was really enjoyable. And arriving in Waitsfield was a pleasant surprise. I kept watching for the unique character and design of houses and other buildings around the town.
Gracious hospitality. Susan, Steve, and staff were top notch. Our stay stay was enhanced by their service and attention.
Understated elegance, rustic charm, and well appointed accomodations. The Inn is a welcomed respite to getaway, relax, and treat yourself to what the area has to offer. Excellent location.
Outstanding food! Enough said.
Great romantic getaway in Vermont.
Hosts are great! Best part imo was the amazing breakfast, you can’t beat having a home cooked meal and fresh tea/coffee in the morning. The fruit cup was especially delicious. The outdoor space was nice too with little fire pits but we didn’t get to use it. Short ~15min drive to a town up the road for food options.
The hotel is very cozy with the typical flair of a mountain lodge. Beautiful and clean rooms, easy check-in, friendly staff, free coffee all the time and even some cheap snacks for breakfast. The hotel lobby is also very beautiful. We were looking for a cheap overnight-stay and our expectations were even exceeded.
We love staying at Bed & Breakfast places. The Waitsfield Inn is a beautiful old home. The owners were very accommodating and we had a nice breakfast before leaving. There is a large living space to watch television, read, relax, and play games. We were greeted by their sweet pup, Milo.
Easy Check in! I didn’t see any staff but that ok I was provided with everything I needed.
The hotel was still having some refurbishment going on but it’s looking great!
Room very beautiful felt very safe as a solo traveller!
