Great guesthouse. Confusing as there is a sister hostel in the town with the same name, but this one is a 5 minute walk out of town, which is a little confusing. Owner was very nice despite no English, and he communicated well. Let me store luggage at no charge and take a shower and change on return for a small fee. Breakfast was satisfying and overall good value

Great owner, very helpful with hikes. Nice place to meet other travelers. Room has everything you need for a short stay before exploring the canyon.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde. There is only one official bus (Andalucia) and it departs from Arequipa very early or too late. There are also collectivos people can take to get there (local buses). Once there, the village is great, people are so helpful and the hikes are amazing!
Please not there is no where to take money out, you absolutely need cash for everything.

The people are really nice.
The people are really nice. I lost my wallet, while paying the fees to get in the park. I went down to Sangelle for one night, and the man (Patricio) who found it, brought it to the tourist place. They called every hotel down to reach me and kept it safe until the next day.
A big thank you!

Hiking Colca Canyon was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Breathtaking scenery with a unique flora and fauna. I highly recommend the hike from Cabanaconde - Oasis - Llahuar - Cabanaconde). Cabanaconde itself is a very small, rural town with lovely and traditional inhabitants.

An incredibly quiet non-touristy destination that we had chosen to get an additional view of the condors without the crowds. It was a great stay for the evening and gave us another glimpse of life in a quiet Peruvian town. People were very friendly and helped us with directions without being asked.

Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town...
Cabanaconde is a small, peaceful, and friendly Peruvian town perched on the edge of Colca Canyon, and a perfect gateway to several great hiking trails. Eco-tourism mixes with local agriculture here, and the community seems to be adapting well to the influx of visitors - many new improvements underway.
I hiked here solo from Cabanaconde. When I finally arrived I was blown away by the beauty of this place. The lush garden setting in the dry canyon made for quite a contrast. The hot springs felt amazing after the long hike. One of the workers named Ssaess was very nice and made me feel at home. He gave me lots of great info about the area. I understand now why this place was so highly recommended from other travelers I met, youtube and Reddit.
The location of Casa de Virginia in Llahuar is gorgeous. Most people will stay here after a hike in the Colca Canyon. You can enjoy the hot tubs after a long day of walking. The host was super friendly and did everything to make us feel right at home. Happy with the vegetarian option for dinner and the breakfast time was flexible. Also a taxi to Cabanaconde can be arranged. Oh and the Wifi was surprisingly strong and fast!
Leandro is very helpfull in providing information on activities or where to go/how to go there. He is a great host.
Location at the edge of the Colca Canyon is good for hiing options. Close by to the Cruz del Condor.
Although it can get chilly at night, we were not cold; the rooms must be well isolated. Also, the duvet is much appreciated (much more comfortable than the stack of blankets normally provided in Peru).
La Posada del Conde is a comfortable and clean old style hotel that's a short walk from the Plaza de Armas. Service is friendly. Breakfast is scheduled to start at 7am but when I wanted to leave earlier Jorge got me breakfast at 5:30. Meals are available and offer a selection of several options from a menu. They stored my bag for four days while I hiked in the canyon.
although staff couldn't find our booking, once we arrive we've also been upgraded and it was very nice to have a bigger room than expected with hot shower. it gets cold very quickly once the sun sets.
They were also able to prepare a quick breakfast for us the following morning at 5am before staring our trek back to Cabanaconde! super nice :)
The area of the hotel is calm and beautiful, you have amazing views and you can relax in a small cozy garden with a mountainview. The room was also very nice. You have a good breakfast and a tea for free during the day. The host also helped us with maps and gave us some advices, where to go in the area of Cabanaconde.
Nice little hotel in the center of Cabanaconde. The rooms view over the internal courtyard so it's very quiet and secure. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds and good bathroom. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and always there to help you for your daytrips or transportation. Breakfast is very good.
Hotel on a unique location. Spectacular views on the canyon, even from the room. You almost have the same views as in the "mirador cruz del condor" but without the crowds ! Room was cozy, breakfast was very nice. Would recommend this experience when visiting the Colca Canyon.
This is a rustic but comfortable lodge at the bottom of Colca Canyon. We had everything we needed for an overnight stay in the canyon. Meals were simple but adequate. The owner was always available and helpful. They seemed to operate in an environmentally friendly way.
Really nice stay in Cabanaconde. Rooms were very clean, showers hot and staff very helpful. Diner at the Homestay was great as well. We also had lunch sandwiches for our hike and those were delicious. Definitely a recommended stay.
the hot springs at night was the highlight of the colca canyon hike, and the staff was super nice and helped us reserve a place in a different location for the next night of the hike.
Kind of oasis in the Colca Canyon, fantastisch pool to het rif of the dust of a day’s hike. Nice garden, don’t leave before breakfast, you netter climb to Cabanaconde on pancakes.
Exceeded our expectations in every way. Clean, modern and comfortable rooms, owners very friendly and welcoming. Perfect location, right on the way to Colca Canyon trek.
Good location, on a main square in Cabanaconde. Good showers with hot water and good water pressure. Rooms and facilities are basic but ok. Breakfast included.
Nice swimming pool. Good room with comfortable bed. Great place to rest after a Colca Canyon trek. Simple but good dinner. Great pancakes for breakfast!
