I'd been to Looe a few times over the past 50 years, had never stayed but knew it'd be a place I enjoy. It's full of tiny streets and alleyways, has a small working fishing port, a sandy beach with a little prom, boat trips, good places to eat (JuJu's Tapas, Daisy's Cafe, Chennai Indian Fusion, Sarah's Pasties for takeaway pasties & cream teas), a beautiful branch line railway up to Liskeard, it's close to places like Talland Bay & Polperro and not very far from the Rame Peninsula, Cawsand and Mount Edgecumbe to the east. The SW coast path goes through Looe so plenty of nice coastal walking to be had. Don't forget beautiful little Looe Island nature reserve just offshore, visitable by short boat trip. Looe is slow to navigate in a car due to its small streets being busy with meandering pedestrians, but that's all part of the fun and as a result it's a nice place to wander round with very little traffic. The only place I wouldn't go back to is the Pier Cafe where we had breakfast one day. It has a v nice location by the beach but is overpriced and the food is average. Go up the hill to quirky little Daisy's Cafe instead! If you're over in West Looe at Hannafore, be sure to get an al fresco coffee or lunch at Hannafore Kiosk which is excellent. Overall it's a friendly, interesting, pretty place with a nice atmosphere which exceeded my expectations. Helped that we had sunshine all week in mid-May!

    Beautiful fishing village.

Beautiful fishing village. Made to feel welcome but, as with many Cornish villages parking is a nightmare especially if you are disabled. Only two disabled parking bays in the whole of Looe and in the week we spent there they were invariably taken up by NON Blue Badge holders. The Promenade in East Looe was a joy with a wonderful council run kiosk half way down the mile or so long promenade. Those guys deserve a raise! Easy to park there with grand views of the Island. We went there most days and consumed our body weight in ice cream purchased from said kiosk. Eating in Looe is also a joy, well stocked with eateries at all standards but almost always offering very fresh fish that is worth the trip on its own. The Coddy Shack is well worth the trip just outside Looe though.

Looe offers immediate access to the Coast and some attractive eating venues although difficult to book. Excellent for those attracted to rivers and seafood. Visitors should particularly try the Thai restaurant or 'Fifty' or 'Ye Olde Salutation Inn' for pub food. All easily accessible on the East side of the river. Train enthusiasts may enjoy a trip to Liskeard.

Looe is the sort of place you would go to get away from the everyday of city life I moved from Devon to Bristol a few years ago and wanted somewhere quiet and this was absolutely it, it felt like another world! Despite the rain we went on loads of walks perfect for the dog there is a lot of hidden gems and loads of history to be found. Personally it was perfect for two of us plus a Labrador, maybe less so for children unless you’re willing to travel further afield for day trips! Definitely recommend Kelly’s fish and chips.

    Beautiful Looe!

Beautiful Looe! Weather was wild and a challenge with big gusts of wind and heavy rain. Restaurants closed relatively early especially when travelled from far and arriving later than 8pm. Locals very friendly. Bit disappointed with the quality of fish food in 2 restaurants.

Looe is a lovely small town. There are good places to eat and convenient shops. The view, people and weather were very nice, although it was a bit windy in the last day of our visit. However, if you like to wander around the Cornwall region and main attractions you may prefer to stay in a more central location. The apartment was decorated thoughtfully and nice. It was clean, we preferred to use the sofa bed and kids said it was comfortable. Matt, the host, was really helpful. Overall, it was a good value for the money.

From the moment we arrived to when we left, we had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful place and what views! A modern place and yet with an eye to detail for the traditional. We were told in advance that a cooked breakfast wouldn't be available due to staff shortages, but the hotel certainly maid up for it. Croissants, porridge, Canadian pancakes with fruit and honey, yoghurt and homemade Bircher müsli (non-dairy option too) with various fresh fruits. I'll definitely be back

Breakfast served every morning provided a broad selection of high-quality items, prepared and delivered to perfection by the nicest hosts imaginable, Stephanie and Andrew. They made our stay delightful and we’re accommodating to all our needs during the stay. The room was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The view from our windows were terrific. The TV and wifi were better than other locations in Cornwall.

Room was perfect for a couple same facilities as a hotel room but not as expensive, very clean room and cosy. The host Steve was a lovely guy and very helpful had some suggestions of places to go , one of which was nearby Fowey, which we went to and was a lovely picturesque town . Would recommend the jolly sailor pub at the bottom of the hill in Looe We would definitely stay here again .

Close to all the amenities of Looe and the beach just a couple of minutes walk away through the town. Lovely treats on arrival. Comfy beds, smart bathroom, great galley style kitchen in what was historic hotel passageway with great view to people watch from breakfast bar. Clock tower is great for checking the time! It's chime is surprisingly quiet and calming.

Whileaway cottage was a luxurious base for a stay exploring cornwall. The house is decorated with the utmost attention to detail, the sofa is extremely comfy and the perfect spot to watch the sunset! (Amazing views across the hillsides). The owners are lovely and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. 10/10 would recommend!

Schooner Point is off the charts! Paula and Tom are great hosts. The room was gorgeous, as was the view of the harbor. And the breakfast was the best I've had in a country that prides itself on breakfast. There are lots of things to do in and around Looe, even when it's raining. You will not regret selecting Schooner Point.

If you are planning to come to Cornwall, stay at Jopes Mill. Simple as that. Fabulous location, couldn't be more picturesque. Mill is bursting with character. Lodge is more modern but very comfortable. Spotlessly clean all round. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

It was a good size mobile home with 2 bedrooms which is always great as a couple. Within driving distance was a lot of attractions in this section of Cornwall so there was plenty to do. The park was very quiet, car parking space right outside the mobile home and easy to access. we enjoyed the stay.

The breakfast was excellent, the hosts were brilliant. However the room was smaller than anticipated and given to believe on the website. I know it is in Cornwall and you’d expect terrain to be of that ilk. The stairs for entrance and exit were a little more demanding than described.
