We travelled up for a family funeral. Every thing was excellent. We had a brilliant much needed nights sleep. Bed was so comfy. My poached eggs were perfect and my husband said best breakfast he’d had. Everything was excellent. We would highly recommend it.

Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Location & grounds of the Hardwick Hall Hotel are second to none, Outstanding. The food in the Restaurant was also exceptional.
The room I stayed in was a little tired. The shower leaked onto the floor, not all the lights worked in the bathroom. The room was generally very warm, even with the window open fully & the fan on..

Sedgefield is a lovely little village with a busy High street, there's a choice if cafes and pubs all serving good choices of food and drinks. Also there's a few interesting little shops, Bettys Boudoir and Peridot. There's a beauty rooms a craft beer shop. Amongst other things.
There's some good walking too.

Sedgefield appears to be an ever growing area.
Sedgefield appears to be an ever growing area. It's old center still retains a lot of character but has become more commercial. Having lived there 45 years ago I was very apprehensive about returning but was very pleased that the "feel" of the place still remained. There are many fine places to eat and drink and Hardwick Hall Hotel is an excellent place to stay in the fabulous country park just outside of Sedgefield.

Beautiful area, obviously good if you are going to the races which we did. Easy access to lots of surrounding areas, Sedgefield itself small, lovely church, few shops nice places to eat. We travelled easily to Seaham, Durham and the theatre in Darlington a very good place to stay and call base

Beautiful Georgian architecture, well kept open spaces with masses of blooms. Friendly staff and plenty of bars and eateries.Good friendly and safe atmosphere.
We ate in the Dunn Cow as they were the only place we could see advertised a gluten free menu. Others said on their website to contact and discuss with them, however two we tried didn't help us feel confident that we would eat safely or get value for money (some places still take off the gluten containing part of the meal but don't substitute it with more of anything else...and you still have to pay the same price).
This is fantastic setting and very unique feel. The rooms are super and only let down is lack of information in the room about the hotel and amenities as well as how to use the heating. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back. Restaurant and bar has great style and good choices on the menu, the only thing to let this place down is the service. staff are very friendly but not quite as on the ball as you would expect for a place like this.
The room was very spacious and fully equipped with hairdryer, iron, safe, tea & coffee facilities. The bathroom was gorgeous and the bed was huge and incredibly comfy. Staff were polite and courteous and the hotel provided courtesy transport for the race course. The breakfast was extremely nice and so was the restaurant food.
We stayed at the Pickled Parson as we are booked in to stay over for our wedding in the Sedgefield area in August and wanted to try it out beforehand. The whole experience was brilliant, the hotel, the food, the staff, we couldn't ask for anything more. Matt and the team took great care of us, can't wait to come back.
Lovely hotel, (but you can hear everything that is said in the rooms each side, as the walls are so thinbathroom so small and unable to actually sit down on the toilet, or brush teeth at the sink, mentioned to staff, they didnt seem to care. Taht said we had a lovely time.
We stayed following a family wedding nearby. The staff were cheerful and very attentive . Breakfast had a good selection of hit and cold options . The hotel was clean and well maintained . Our room was spacious with a lovely big bathroom . I would definitely recommend
the restaurant was amazing and food was out of this world for both the evening meal and for breakfast. the huge bath tub was such a luxury and not something you would get in a bog standard hotel room so was such a treat.
The place is huge ,different rooms all with bars and restaurants . we ate at the rib room and it was spectacular .there was always plenty of smiling happy members of staff around to help in any way
Sedgefield is a lovely village, I was at Hardwick Festival which was easily accessible from back of the hotel - facilities were lovely, staff were really great, very clean and comfy room.
A very personal feel. An old pub with character bit rooms were so clean. Food in the pub is exceptional. A proper pub, not a sterile chain hotel or gastro pub.
Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Location & grounds of the Hardwick Hall Hotel are second to none, Outstanding. The food in the Restaurant was also exceptional.
Small welcoming pub/hotel I have used for the last 30 years. Much better than a corporate box type hotel - very relaxing.
Food good, service excellent.
