The location was in the heart of the old town and yet quiet and relaxing. The hotel contacted us via email with a pass for the busses and other activities. Both the city and the hotel exceeded our expectations. It was quite a lucky find.

A beautiful and historic city with so much to see.
A beautiful and historic city with so much to see. Transport yourself back 100s of years at the ramparts or city hall, or the church of St Nicolas. The old town has some great places to eat and drink. The city is centrally located on the main train line from Geneva to Zurich.

Fribourg is a beautiful city. A mix of the new and the old. It is a great city to walk around (although lots of hills) and discover hidden treats and views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend visiting this gorgeous town.

Lovely old town with streets and bridges to wander.
Lovely old town with streets and bridges to wander. Excellent pedestrian only bar and restaurant area. Have a fondue at the Cafe du Midi! And search out the tapas restaurant of the pedestrian area. Terrific.
Bonus is a wonderful climb up the cathedral tower-do it first for a great orientation. It’s only 368 steps.

Fribourg is a beautiful town with some stunning scenery.
Fribourg is a beautiful town with some stunning scenery. Lots of impressive bridges over the fast flowing river Sarine. Views from the cathedral tower were spectacular and well worth the effort of climbing the 364 steps to the top. The museum of art history was much better than expected and well worth a visit.

We were visiting to see friends who live there.
We were visiting to see friends who live there. Have visited before several times but stayed with our friends. This time needed a cheap hotel as lots of us. Would recommend the Cathedral, also the old town and walks along the gorge. Also visit the caves that hermits hewed out of the cliffs to live in. Good restaurants. Visit the Jean Tinguely mobile in Grand Places.
Great hotel, great staff, great location. I was in the biggest room in the ceiling of the hotel, the room and restroom - recently renovated - were awesome. It's not super close to the main action in the city but the bus station is right in front of the hotel and the bus gets you to the train station in 10 min. Or the stairs if you feel in shape. Try the funiculaire at least once. Very close to the public pool which was great during the summer heat wave. There are a few dinner options around for any budget.
Nice hotel close to the former city walls (les remparts). The room was clean and the beds were comfy. We appreciated the the staff's offer to choose between staying in one of their recently renovated rooms, which were (at the time of writing) all located on the ground floor and subject to street noise, or one of the older rooms on a higher floor and with a view of the remparts. We chose the latter and we enjoyed our stay.
The rooms are very comfortable, although we had to climb up 2 storeys to get to ours. Well organized, we received an email before arrival explaining, should there be nobody at the front desk, how to enter the building, where to get our keys and other very useful information about the hotel. Very helpful staff, helped take our suitcases up the stairs, and arranged for franc coins to feed the parking meter!
Great place to stay in old town Fribourg. Close to bus which is a 5 minute ride to trains station, which gets you to just about everywhere! A short walk around the corner and you have access to a lot of great restaurants, shops and a huge shopping center with a large grocery store. :)
The lovely owner told us that the building is the only one on the street that has been renovated in its original style, and done with lots of love and attention to detail. Our room was stunning! We had a great stay for one night in Fribourg and highly recommend this hotel!!!
Low price (for Switzerland). Accessible by car without having to go through city centre traffic. Clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet rooms. Restaurant on the floor below (so you can have a beer after getting home) (I didn't notice any noise from restaurant guests at all).
Super location - excellent for the old city. Parking easy in the square (the hotel sells you a pass for 24 hrs - but you have to ask). Very friendly and helpful reception who printed out tickets I needed the next day. Breakfast was efficient and friendly server.
I was in Fribourg for a weekend. The hotel was perfect for our needs, central, comfortable and also cool!
The price-performance ratio is absolutely right and the self-check-in (which I did for the first time) worked perfectly.
Definitely a recommendation!
quiet place where you can rest.
they served good breakfast.
staff were kind.
clean facilities.
the hotel is near to fribourg.
free parking provided.
good place for retreat and seminars.
it has a beautiful Chapel inside.
The facility is ok for travelling and making a stop over.. The hotel seems to be a conference facility and setup for that purpose. the restaurant is great, all homegrown ingredients, breakfast is good and all you need.
This hotel is not luxurious but has an excellent staff, is very clean and well maintained, the rooms are simple and perhaps a little gloomy, but excellent value for money. The restaurant is very good.
beautiful room fully equipped, new and renovated. Hotel is in excellent location right in the heart of the town just by Georges Python square. We had room service every day with fresh towels.
The location of this historic building is excellent. Lots of beautiful architecture in the district, and the hotel was a one-kilometer walk from the University, where I had to work that day.
The room had space enough for two persons and excellent equipped.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Fribourg and very near to the railway station.
Daily impeccable cleaning.
