With a rich mix of influences from Indians, Chinese, Spanish and Americans, Manila is the vibrant capital of the Philippines and its cultural and economic centre. Thanks to the trade with Latin America during the three centuries of Spanish colonisation, Manila became an important city, known as the ‘Pearl of Orient’.
Don’t miss a visit to the Spanish remains in the Intramuros district. Important landmarks in the area are the Malacañan Palace, the City Hall, and the Manila Cathedral.
Rizal Park is a national icon, while the Baywalk promenade is great for enjoying the well-known city sunsets. Ermita and Malate districts are famous for the nightlife, trendy shopping and restaurants, as well as for some luxury Manila hotels. Between the promenade and the districts, its easy to see why Filipinos call Manila, “The City of Our Affections” where the people's love affairs with fashion, music, entertainment and sheer fun are on bright and beautiful display.
Divisoria is a traditional district for local shopping, bargains and typical food. Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world.
For hotels in Manila near the airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport is not far from Makati City, where a second cluster of hotels are located.

Most People just arrive at Manila Airport, and fly to another Island in Phillippinen. But if you really stay in Manila City, you should know about, what is waiting for you. You will see a lot of poor people, living on the street, you will smell in some places Urin/toilette making on the street, and as a white foreigner from Europe or America, you become the main focus when walking on the street. Manila is not for a cozy and comfortable City-Trip. Its an experience at extreme situations. But when you are esspecially looking for this, to expand your horizon, then go for it.
The Phillippinen People have a friendly and open heart. But also be aware of people, who wants to call you a Taxi or give you a Hotel. They take you 10 times more Money, than a taxi-ride will cost. Go to the street by yourself, and you will find a lot of Taxi.
If you already have a Phillippinen SIM-Card (from the Airport), then you can download the "Grap-App", a Car sharing System, where private drivers offer you a cheap ride to any place within Manila. Payment is always cash at the driver, and the price is written before. The Climate is very hot for White People. Bring an Umbrella for Sun Protection, and use places with Air Condition for recover your Body-System (Mall of Asia). It depends what you want to do in Manila, but 5 days are really enough, to get a full impression of this Special City in our World here.

It seems to be a way of life, but Manila is congested with pollution & traffic. Will there be a solution to these problems when the earth is on the verge of destruction? Global warming is real,& it’s on us to take this matter seriously. My 2 weeks stay in the Philippines was horrible due to the unprecedented hot temperature that I have to think twice whether it’s worth visiting the place soon. Constructions of buildings are everywhere that there is an imbalance on natural beauty as a whole. There is purely greed for sure.

Manila, is the capital and second-most-populous city of the...
Manila, is the capital and second-most-populous city of the Philippines. Located on the eastern shore of Manila Bay on the island of Luzon, it is classified as a highly urbanized city. As of 2019, it is the world's most densely populated city proper. It was the first chartered city in the country, and was designated as such by the Philippine Commission Act No. 183 on July 31, 1901. It became autonomous with the passage of Republic Act No. 409, "The Revised Charter of the City of Manila", on June 18, 1949. Manila is considered to be part of the world's original set of global cities because its commercial networks were the first to extend across the Pacific Ocean and connect Asia with the Spanish Americas through the galleon trade; when this was accomplished, it was the first time an uninterrupted chain of trade routes circling the planet had been established.

I was at the Shangri La The Fort for 5 nights and it was way above expectations.
BGC vibe is exceptional.
The airport needs to be upgraded to international standard.
The hotel was conveniently located in Makati. The staff, from the security officer that greeted me to the front desk to room service, was courteous, helpful and professional. The room was clean, spacious and had a wonderful view of the Makati/Manila skyline. The King size bed was comfortable, with an awesome comforter. The food from the hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Despite being in quarantine, I enjoyed my stay at Lub d Hotel and would highly recommend it to fellow expats and visitors alike.
Clean, clean, clean! This hotel is super clean with nice, modern amenities and an air of luxury. It always smelled great and was bug-free. Can't ask for more.
The staff were incredible, so friendly and attentive. Probably the best staff in any hotel I've been in around the world.
An additional friend came through Manila while I was staying there, and we were able to get an extra bed/amenities in the room for a few nights for a reasonable fee, which was a big help.
The pool area is a nice environment.
Firstly cheaper price. Hotel very near to Taft Ave main road. Walking distance 5 minutes to Taft Ave or Pedro street. Easy to get jeepney to town Near to Manila Bay Beach around 20 mins walking distance. About the room, little bit small room with 1DB n 1BB.it's clean, aircond and water heater working, t.v and wardrobe. Customer service was good. My room at ground floor Infront of street road. Overall nice stay. For Muslim can buy food at Muslim restaurant around 1.5km (g/map) or Quiapo town.
the hotel was located in a prime location, everything is nearby. restaurants and shopping malls. The staffs were very accommodating . i have some issues with my mode of payment, yet they considered my only option that day (wire transfer), rather than letting me wait for my issues to be resolved. They even considered my luggage to be left for 2 days for a considerable amount, since ill be going up north prior my flight on the 26th. Made my manila/makati stay convenient. 😍👍🏻👍🏻
The best part of I’M Hotel is its staff. Everyone from the doormen to the front desk, the dining folks, room service, housekeeping, and the team at the rooftop bar were welcoming, warm, and professional.
We loved the bathtub with its floor to ceiling windows and the sweeping views of Manila. The cityscape at night and sunrise were gorgeous.
We ordered room service twice and the food was really tasty. The portions were unexpectedly enormous.
- Great size rooms that match the expected standards of a 5-star hotel.
- Lovely staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay great.
- Very nice pool area where you can see the skyline of Manila (especially nice when it gets dark).
- Good location in Makati as it's not far from the airport but is a relatively nice neighbourhood with a huge mall just a short walk away.
Best location for airport hotel, only a few minutes footbridge walk (aka "Runway Manila", airconditioned overpass with restaurants along the way) from Terminal 3. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast is nice for Filipino foods. We stayed here 2 nights on arrival for our holiday and then another 2 nights before our departure flight two weeks later. Happily recommend :)
I had a wonderful stay at red planet manila bay because of the many factors such as the excellent location. You can just walk from the hotel to US Embassy which really made this an excellent choice. Outside the building are establishments that will cater your needs. Red planet makati has state of the art facility which will make your stay a pleasant stay.
I adore Hotel 101 for its wonderful ambiance and delightful staff. The cleanliness and refreshing scent of the place never fail to impress me. What truly sets it apart is its convenient location near the airport, malls, churches, and more. Whenever I visit the Manila area, I unfailingly choose to stay at this hotel.
Been staying here since 2019 every time I fly to Manila.
I like its close proximity to the airport and to MOA. It also has a 7/11 beside it which makes it super convenient for travelers like me. It is comfy and clean which I appreciate for a budget hotel. I hope they keep it this way 👌🏻
I like to stay in Go Hotel Manila Airport Road.Near to go in the airport. The staff and security are very good and alert for their juty.Accessable and fastest to bring your foods order by online .Thank you.Youre doing great job..Keep going sir & ma'am.Your service are highy appreciated.
The only option across the street from Terminal 4; nice "shuttle" even though we could just walk. This is our goto hotel every time we have a very early flight out of T4; in fact, that is the only reason we book here, to be able to guarantee we can make the airport in crazy manila.
I had a great view of Manila and Makati. Was great to see the rain pass over the city. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Very peaceful hotel. The cleaning staff looked after me for the three weeks in total I stayed there.
One of the best hotels in manila.very friendly and helpful staff a great buffet breakfast and 5 star facilities and in a great location.i will look forward to returning to this hotel soon
I like this hotel and always stay here when in Manila. The rooms are small but comfortable. Excellent buffet breakfast and service. Great location just steps from Greenbelt in Makati.
I am frequent guest to this hotel and love the location of the hotel and great staff as well. This is my go-to hotel when I am in Manila because it is close to the airport.
This is easily one of the best hotels in Manila. Very well located, awesome facilities (room, gym, breakfast). Staff is exceptional, they take care of you very well
I am a regular customer of Hotel 101. Love to stay here during my vacation because it is near airport and staff are friendly with good customer service.
