Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.
Amazing place to visit. The piazza's are plentiful, as too are places to stop for coffee/cuisine and watch the world go by. We loved the architecture, shopping and museums and although the weather wasn't so great on our stay, the City itself didn't disappoint!

Many opt for Milan over Turin, but it's time to reverse that trend. Turin isn't just an industrial city as commonly perceived; it's a stunning destination steeped in history, once the residence of the King of Italy. With its abundance of historical landmarks, excellent shopping, and delightful dining options, Turin offers a tranquil ambiance distinct from other Italian cities. Its compact size allows for leisurely strolls, making it a perfect getaway.

A beautiful city, less obvious than Rome and Milan, but offers a lot of attractions, both for those who like monuments and art, and for those who are interested in cars or movies. The area is also worth seeing, and the Alps look amazing. Turin is also famous for its food.

Only drove through Turin on route to France.
Only drove through Turin on route to France. Quite an experience. Main roads can be three lanes each direction twinned with the parallel residential street all meeting at a five or six way junction.😬Funky & stylish restaurants in the old town.

It was a cultural shock to me, visiting for the first time and coming from a town and region that lacks the level of art, architecture, structured urban life, well organized public transport, many other things. I couldn't pick one or two places as favorites, there were many interesting spots, nice parks and public spaces, shops. Turin has rich history, is important as the hometown of Juventus, FIAT, Lavazza, to mention few. The city is overcrowded on weekends, Italians like to enjoy meals or beverages in restaurants or bars. Monday is usually a free day, and placed close for a few hours around lunch every day, so have in mind that when visiting. One cannot see everything in several days, so I hope to return again to round up the places not visited on this trip.
We came to Italy for our honeymoon and stayed in 3 different hotels/apartments. The other two were more affordable and economical. We decided to splurge on our last two nights of our honeymoon and were blown away by the size of our Deluxe Double Room with Terrace. The bathroom was larger than one of the rooms we stayed at previously, the walk in closet was adorable, the fridge full of complimentary water and soda, we were greeted with beautiful sweets, and the terrace was private and roomy. The staff was beyond friendly, funny and helpful.
The staff were really great, so helpful, friendly and polite. They lent me a travel plug when I had the wrong type (Italy has two different types of plug). The breakfast was really good, a lot of choice and very filling.
The hotel is in a great central location, only 8 mins from the Egyptian museum and very close to the historic part of the city. Lots of nice restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Mini fridge in the room was great to keep some groceries.
Loved everything about this property from the professional reception and breakfast staff to the enormous bathrooms to the modern architecture. This hotel has it all at a very reasonable rate. It’s not close to the Turin attractions but has restaurants and museums in the area. “Eataly” is a unique restaurant-grocery store that offers a wide variety of menu options. And Double Tree gives free vouchers to the Pinacoteca Agnelli museum - its worth the visit!
This hotel was such a great find! The Lingotto area in Turin is FIAT's HQ, and there's a great shopping mall and an Eataly right next door. The metro is super close as well. Breakfast was great, albeit expensive. The room is beautiful, with incredible decor from design legends like Eames and the Corbusier. Very cool. They also give you free vouchers to go see FIAT's former test track in the rooftop, which was a very cool experience! Highly recommend it.
It was our second time at this hotel which is at an excellent location very well served by public transport and a couple of minutes away from Porta Susa and the airport shuttle to Turin Airport. The centre of Turin, Piazza Castello is easily accessible on foot.
The hotel is very clean with a very good breakfast and great staff.
Many Cafes and restaurants nearby.
Highly recommended...for sure will stay again when visiting Turin.
After traveling around Italy in various hotels, this location was a breath of fresh air, high ceilings and plenty of windows that allow for air to circulate through the apartment easily made for an incredibly refreshing and enjoyable stay. A forth floor apartment giving plenty of distance from traffic for comfortable white noise and an incredible view of the Mole Antonelliana. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
We only stayed one night for a stopover on our journey to Venice. The hotel is located in the centre of Turin, near the main attractions. The hotel is charming and the room was very simple. The breakfast room is decorated in the 18th century style to remind Mozart's stay in this hotel. The breakfast has nothing exceptional, and we arrived too late to enjoy it (it closes at 10 and you have to leave the room at 10:15!).
Everything was perfect. Best location ever! The whole place is curated to the details. Better than many 4 and 5 stars hotels in Italy. It has even the dental kit in the bathroom, slippers, more than enough towels, amazing shower. We loved it. The photos don't give honor to this jewelry in the city. Highly reccomended and I will stay there next time I am in Turin.
The breakfast was fantastic. The staff very friendly, helpful with curtesy and faces with smile. This is the first time I met a helpful people in a hotel in Italy. Specially need to mention about the people who works in reception. They are very humble and helpful. Good location and can reach everywhere. Recommend to anyone.
Outstanding service from everyone. Nothing too much trouble. All staff seemed to like working there and had a shared passion to please the guests. Best hotel we have stayed in during 6 weeks of travel in Italy. Everywhere clean and well maintained. Patrick impressed with front desk
Bed was comfortable, very cleaned, and has a great location for where we wanted to be. Steps away from Porta Nova train station. Turin is a beautiful place. Didn't explore the city. Our purpose was to meet up our relatives for dinner and head back to Rome the next day.
Since it is a 2 star hotel it was much much better than what I was expecting. During my trip to Italy I stayed in 4 hotels (the others were 3 stared, well reviewed hotels); this one was the best. Plus both the room and the bathroom is enormous!
Very nice hotel in a beautiful part of the city, just walk outside and there are many nice restaurants, also in front of the entrance there is one of the oldest building in Torino and the Roman "porte Palatine"
We've got more than expexted! Conditioning, hair dryer, even bidet- everything was so tidy! And breakfast included. So thank you, Hotel Italia, we will book again with no doubt while visiting Italy ❤
The service and attentiveness of the staff was so good that you feel very good at this hotel. Perfect breakfast for Italy. The location is good to come by car and leave it there.
The location is fantastic! Walking distance to all the central sites and easy to get to from Porta Nova and Porta Susa. Hotel seemed brand new everything was spotless!
