Nice region as we wanted to visit seaside after 2 years of not travelling. It is good for planning a trips in nice cities around by car, like Venice, Bologna, Modena, Firenze, etc. and still be close to the sea. Also not far from north borders (approx. 3 hours drive).

The best was the food.
The best was the food. Delicious pizza in Pumaro pizzeria opens at 18:30, amazing ice cream in local gelateria plus best coffee I have ever had. Although people don't speak English they are very ok with our rusty Italian.
The beach suffers from extreme pollution by plastic. It is a pitty because the Great Cormorants are all over the coast and they and the environment suffer greatly.
Although the trash bins are everywhere along the beach, people seem to not mind at all. They sit in the trash. Swim in the trash. And this is not the fault of the tourists because they were none. Just us. As a marine biologist I doubt that the quality of the water is good at all and the sewage system should be checked.
We found some beach much farther from the centre and it was much better. Important warning, be careful because the jellyfishes are overpopulated in Adriatic sea.
There are great hikes through the pine forests, amazing birding locations like Delta Po, salt marshes and lakes.

This is a small site with about 30 tiny houses just next to a big camping site. It is close to the sea, the village has all the capabilities you need (Lidl), and it is very calm. The stuff is great.
