We’ve stayed there before about 9 years ago & found it excellent. In town, good value, comfortable. But, this time… there was no milk in the units. Could’ve coped with that but also no hot water! No staff on site. Eventually Got told by txt to use another unit if we needed a hot shower. Found that both gas bottles behind the units had run out so none of us had hot water

It was lovely having a choice of bacon and eggs, fruit and museli and yoghurt . There was no bottle of local wine as mentioned, but that was the only thing. It was so quiet and relaxing. Only a 2 minute drive into the township. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend.

Didn't go to Featherston to shop or see the sites.

Didn't go to Featherston to shop or see the sites. I went to a wedding there. The venue was within walking distance which was great. The only thing about this property is the owners live right across from you, so can see everything that happens. From visitors to staying up late.

Featherston is a great place to stay the night.

Featherston is a great place to stay the night. The food at the Royal Hotel is exceptional. And we found a little bookshop and cafe at the other end of the street which had the most amazing high tea of date scones with raspberry jam and mascarpone. I've always driven through on the way to Greytown, but decided to stay in Featherston at the Royal Hotel instead. I will be going back. Perfect overnight getaway.

Beautiful rural countryside community, with rolling hillsides and picturesque landscapes. Farms and open spaces as far as the eye can see, time to sit relax, unwind and enjoy. Recommend taking a drive out to Lake Ferry (take a picnic) and enjoy.

We didn’t really get to see much of Featherstone itself as we were attending an event about 15 minutes out however it was very convenient to where we needed to be. The Tararua ranges were sublime as was the scenery around the region. If our stay had been longer I would have loved to do more exploring in the area. I’ve heard the river swimming is lovely.

I had a lovely time in my tiny one-bedroom home.

I had a lovely time in my tiny one-bedroom home. All was clean and neat. Rachel, the cleaning lady, was a real jewel in a stressful situation without a manager at hand. There was nobody to unlock my booked room or know where I booked. After a few conversations on the phone, Rachel turned up and helped me. It was stressful because I'd booked in October and paid the total accommodation price. The stay was worth it after things were in place for me to use the rooms. It's á perfect peaceful place to relax.
