Always one of my favorite places to visit.
Always one of my favorite places to visit. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on the shore (with a view!) then go and walk the easy trail circling the Red Lake through the forest. The Langos and ice cream are very good in the area! It can get a bit crowded during peak season so it's worth seeing during the off-season as well (winter especially!).VladRomania - 2.0Scored 2.0

Good but you need to eat before 8pm because all the restaurants closes around this hours and luckely that we found a last one open to not starve. There are no gas stations around. You need to be prepared otherwise the closest will be at a good 30km away from the lake. You could go on the lake with the rowboat but their scheduale was depending on the weather badly enough.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a French balcony and a beautiful view of the mountains. The room itself was clean and tidy. There was a small refrigerator under the TV shelf. The bathroom was very spacious and heated. It also had a working hairdryer. It is also worth mentioning a fast and reliable internet connection in the room. The room was very clean and warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's possible to eat in the villa's restaurant and there is even a hot tub outside that you can enjoy and get warmed up during chill evenings (note that you need to let the staff know in advance if you want to use the outdoor hot tub). You could see part of the gorges from the balcony and see all the mountain scenery in its fullness ! The reception and parking has been extensively renovated. The bathroom and rooms were also renovated, tough not as extensively. The parking spaces are great and in abundance. The access road to the hotel is not as good but it is usable (we used it with a ford focus with 12cm ground clearance).

The two meals we had were well prepared, and amazing value for money, as were drinks. The manager, who speaks quite good English, was very helpful. Recommended.

Also there is via ferrata Wild Ferencz close to Lacu Rosu / accommodation, but the equipment is hard to find if you don’t have your own. There is a small kitchen as a part of accommodation. There is some basic equipment available, like a pot, plates and a cutlery.
