Palakkad is wonderful at this time of the year and the rain has turned the nearby mountains green and misty - if you want to experience a ten where the civic sense is high and one of the best administrative units in India - do visit . It also has the Malampuzha dam and you can journey for several treks into nearby mountains .

A place that has Kerala and Tamil nadu in the right mix! The language the people speak is lovely for this hybrid nature. Personally, I enjoy the place for its culture and tradition. Weather is too hot i summer but a visit in the colder months or near about the monsoon definitely is enjoyable. The best part is the food. As a vegetarian, I simply adore the tasty fare available even at small hotels. Stick to local cuisine and you will never get disappointed!

Nice little town. Though the railway station first platform is dark, police help available everywhere. No metered autos. Little expensive but people are good. The town as such has very modern look but a few kms out and it's totally scenic and breathtaking. Market can be better organized. Too hapazard at night. Traffic rule following has to improve.Chips was great from a freshly made outlet. Indraprastha was our hotel. Nice old feel with excellent staff, very helpful. Vegetarian food was well made and served neatly. Bhagavati temple was blissful. Interesting . Versatile rice shop. Market could be better but price was reasonable. Gokul krishna veg hotel dissappointed. Grumpy staff and served onion food though jain was requested. Very rigid and unaccomodative. Mustafa auto was a Blessing9048308114

The rooms were a little small when compared to five star facilities, but everything else was five star in my experience. They don't have a bar or restaurant, but there is a breakfast area that serves a fine spread of Indian breakfast items like Chapati, Idli, Upma, Toast, juices etc. There is also a burger place in the same building with a huge burger menu.
