Fantastic place to stay while cycling the Roxburgh Gold Trail. So comfortable, friendly host and close enough to the centre of town to walk to everything.
Set in the scenic Teviot Valley, Millers Flat Holiday Park offers accommodation options on the banks of the Clutha River. The popular Clutha Gold cycling and walking trail passes through the property....
The lovely tranquil atmosphere with the hills as a backdrop.
The lovely tranquil atmosphere with the hills as a backdrop. Reminded us a little of our visit to Switzerland.
People were friendly. Met a lovely lady at the community garden who gave us a lot of local information.
The river walk was great. The views from spillgate lockout were fantastic - this is right opposite the Roxburgh Dam and hydro centre.

The town is a great stop on the way between Lawrence and Alexandra with a selection of places to eat. We loved Jimmy's pies the first time there but next time it was a Saturday and closed - luckily Teviot Tearooms had some and a great selection of other takeaways. Outside of town are many orchards, some of which have shops selling wonderful fresh fruit. Roxburgh is well suited to support a cycle trip on the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold Trails.
The cottages are located in a camping ground about 1km north of Roxburgh. Cycling from the north we were led to the site by yellow flags through old mine workings. The cottage was great with a bath for soaking weary cyclists' legs. Kitchen had all the equipment needed to cook a meal with an enormous fridge or you can have dinner in the pub in town. Separate bedrooms for a couple (double bed) and youngsters (twin beds) with another bed in the lounge. Judith was very helpful and friendly.
Great location for the clutha gold trail (a well marked path from the holiday park to the trail), close to Roxburgh that has all you need. Scenic view. Very quiet road. A few mins drive to a big hydro dam which was interesting to see. Cottage was bigger than expected (2 bedrooms). Super clean, comfortable bed, and nicely decorated.
Top 10 says it all. Best overall place to find the peace and quiet of a small town whether you are a family traveling, or just want to park your camper van. Plenty of fun for the kids and lots to attract adults as well. The single cottages are like being home. Lovely little town too proud of its heritage ...
Enjoyed the opportunity of staying in a 100 yr plus cottage and learning it's history. Heaters in lounge and bedroom so soon warmed up, well equipped kitchen and had the best shower.
Close to the Clutha River so possible to walk into township of Roxburgh alongside river.
We loved the character of the old house. The layout of the rooms is comfortable. On a hot day the house remains cool. It is nice and private. Roxburgh is a quiet town in a beautiful landscape. The riverside bike trail is picturesque and easy.
Rustic location. Good sized room. The room was basic but all amenities worked well. The hotel restaurant served nice food at reasonable prices. Served as a nice stopover slightly out of town and off the beaten road.
Lovely hosts who also run an art gallery in Roxburgh which is worth checking out. Cottage was warm, clean and comfortable with great amenities. Loved the detached kitchen. Very quiet location.
Dinner was spectacular. And breakfast was also very good. We know there is limited accommodation in Roxburgh so this combination of very comfortable rooms and outstanding food was excellent
