We had a very comfortable stay, the place was clean and quiet at night. The location was perfect, there are cars to hire or a bus that ventures around the island. We ate at the pub down the road most the time as it was good value for money and there are snorkelling opportunities and wallabies all within walking distance. We had a lovely stay.
Just 1 minutes’ walk from Horseshoe Bay Beach, Magnetic Sunsets offers accommodation with free Wi-Fi, free breakfast provisions and a private balcony with outdoor seating.

swimming pool, loved the gardens and birdlife. Offered a serene, relaxing experience with nature.
Loved the area. Felt a very secluded part of the island, so we just loved that. Beautiful right on the beachfront. No road in front, completely relaxing, felt very different than other parts of the island.

Picnic Bay is very quiet and peaceful.
Picnic Bay is very quiet and peaceful. The jetty was busy with fishermen on the weekend but quiet otherwise.
Not many food options and very few shops. I’m glad we had our car to travel over to other areas.

Picnic Bay is the quieter end of Magnetic Island with a lovely beach lots of birdlife and well cared for Mall area filled with shaded seating areas , magnificent Fig trees and a hotel which serves good food with bright cheerful service. There are other options for meals and more to be found in the other bay areas and the local bus service will take to all the beauty spots on the Island. If you want a relaxing holiday Picnic Bay is an excellent choice.

Rob and Jen were great hosts and the accommodation is well positioned close to the beach and cafes. There are plenty of nice walks from Picnic Point and a regular bus that runs all over the island.
There are stinger nets on the beach and the waterfront is gorgeous.
Tropical Palms has clean rooms with stove, fridge and microwave with aircon, tv and a covered pool and bbq. An affordable home away from home on this beautiful island.

More variety of shops needed eg. Mini mart.
More variety of shops needed eg. Mini mart.
Very limited choice for dining ( particularly breakfast)
One coffee shop very expensive for what you get.
Picnic Bay foreshore is like a ghost town in the mornings
We loved Turtle Cottage! Our highlight was to find two koalas in the tree in front of the house. The house itself is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen fully equipped. There's also a big pattio in the garden, where we could relax and eat in the shade. We loved waking up to the sound of birds. It's just a short walk to Picnic Bay beach, which has a stinger net. This is also where the bus stops, so it's easy to travel to Nelly Bay or other parts of the island. The owners are very lovely and helpful.
Probably one of the best budget accommodations in Australia : cleverly conceived, small but pleasant rooms in a lush garden with a sink, a very efficient fridge and a flat-screen TV. The shared bathroom, big common kitchen and comfy lounge are all conveniently close to the rooms. There's even a lovely dog which you can take out for a walk. The location is great, close to the jetty and the bus terminal. The bus even stops in front of the hotel if asked.
The large deck was exceptional, with plenty of comfortable seating, and the barbeque was a welcome feature. The beach and eating venues were in easy walking distance. Local wildlife was in abundance, with nightly visits from possums, and a koala visible in the trees across the road from the property. Kitchen crockery/cutlery was very adequate, and cooking facilities also adequate. The complimentary bag of ice came in handy.
Serenity was an exceptional find! With new modern upgrades, the room was spacious and well appointed with a bed I instantly fell asleep on and slept like a baby. Access could not have been easier and it as an ideal location being a short walk from the beach and local restaurants.
Serenity is ideally placed for Picnic Bay - it is maybe 400m from the beach, restaurants, transport and local attractions.
The location was perfect with only a short walk to the beach,, stinger net, hotel, cafe/restaurant and craft brewery. Beautiful quiet bay for beach walking. Small cafe Mama Roma did their best to create evening, alfresco ambience with a simple menu but good food. Only light traffic on nearby roads and a few minutes to Foodworks for any groceries and the ferry terminal at Nelly Bay for the trip home.
The place itself is great. The owner gave me a bunch of activities to do. all his rentals were super affordable including his little shop which has everything you need to make a meal. The bus drivers will drop you right at the property. The other bus stop is a 2 min walk away. It is also beside picnic bay one of the only places with nets in the water so you can swim! Highly recommend
Staff were exceptional although after hours I lost an earing down the bathroom sink drain and the owner cams straight away and took the piping out to find it in the s bend very much appreciated. It was walking distance to all amenities such as beach, meals and picnic bay pub. Had an amazing weekend made better by the staff.
Very nice and quiet small villa with sea view, separated from the beach only by a small road. Well thought out floor plan with a small pool between the bedroom and the living elements. Picnic Bay is ideal to relax. Good restaurants and a great brewery on site. Well served by public bus.
I have not stayed at Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island before & so after this experience, I will certainly go back to that part of the island. OK. Moreover Roxanne was terrific host. Provided you have a car or bike, then the position is terrific.
very comfortable, clean, well equipped with stove, microwave, utensils etc. Very clean property, located close to Picnic Bay and walking distance from excellent restaurants and the brewery.
this is a delightful chalet located very close to Picnic bay beach. we enjoyed cooking a bbq on the porch and thought the chalet had everything you needed for a very pleasant stay.
The location is spectacular, the host incredibly helpful and the accommodation had an incredible amount of room. This holiday house has everything you could possibly ask for!
So spacious with plenty of room to relax and be as a family. The location in Picnic Bay is great - right down the street from the pier, playground and swimming beach.
