SEA-esta, hotel in Horseshoe Bay

Featuring 3-star accommodation, SEA-esta is set in Nelly Bay, 500 metres from Nelly Bay Beach and 2.7 km from Geoffrey Bay Beach.

Just 15 minutes walk from the ferry. Close proximity to the gym, car rental place and 10 mins from Nomads hostel (if you want to drink at night) We’ve been travelling 4 months and this was the most, if not one of the most comfortable stays we have had. It was very homely, and plenty of space. We met the owner briefly one day and he was very friendly too. Highly recommend. More so for couples Thanks for having us! Luke & Gemma

A stunning bay/beach with netted swimming area.

A stunning bay/beach with netted swimming area. Some great cafes/bars, a beautiful art /craft gallery and the lady has lots of local knowledge about the local artists. There is a very relaxed vibe in Horseshoe Bay, not over commercialised like other areas of Magnetic Island. A little Gem.

Horseshoe bay is stunning great location, it has it all tranquility, stunning scenery. Local restaurant and bars serving quality food. Water sports available right on the beach. Lots of walks, a koala sanctuary it’s just great.

Horseshoe Bay was perfect for us.

Horseshoe Bay was perfect for us. If had a terrific mix of an unspoiled natural safe swimming beach with a great range of eateries, coffee shops and retail. There was also the wildlife park and plenty of awesome walks (butterfly walk and through national park). Everything felt in walking distance as well. We especially loved hanging out at sunset or talking some long walks. It wasn't too crowded and we really hope that vibe stays.

    We loved it.

We loved it. We stayed at Nelly Bay last year but Horseshoe Bay is so much better. Sails on Horseshoe Bay is ideally located and the managers were so friendly and informative. The beach is just magic! We had read about stingers and we were a little wary but others were swimming (outside of the net) so we did too. No stingers. There is a range of eateries down the street and its only about a 3 minutes walk. Simply a perfect, restful location. A special thanks to the new managers and we wish them well in this, their new endeavour.

Due to Co-vid Horseshoe bay lacked restaurant choice unless it was the weekend, which I totally understand. The walk and trails are awesome. The south east trade winds are strong which makes Horseshoe bay a favourite anchorage for the sailing community... Because of this, the beach is a lot calmer than the southern end of the island.. The forts are a must to visit... Bring plenty of water and look out for the koala... plenty of them.

    We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Ate at Sandy's resteraunt and went on a 2 hour tour with Magnetic Jet Ski (leaves from the red shed) and it was fun and a bit rough. The whole family enjoyed this. Went looking for the butterflies. They were amazing but you have to shake the trees to get them flying. Only 10 minutes from our accommodation.Ask a local!

We absolutely loved having so many options for breakfast. Jess being vego was very happy with the variety of choices. It was so nice to go and stay at an actual Bed and Breakfast, Airbnb has taken some of the charm away from many stays with self-serve breakfasts and often no interaction with the host. True North was a rare example of a true BnB, which was refreshing. The location was perfect, next to the Koala sanctuary and pub, and only a 5 minute walk from Horseshoe Bay. Would stay again.

Loved Selina, loved the cafe / bar common area, loved the dorm lodges which had a toilet and shower. Comfiest and nicest hostel I've stayed at for a while! A nice treat, great location too with beautiful sunsets and food/ drink/ hike options from Horseshoe Bay, plus regular bus available from right outside the Hostel. Also did candlelight yoga and a morning yoga session which I loved - other activities available too like pool tournaments, games etc. Would recommend staying here!

Location is great, walking distance to horseshoe bay. Nice quiet area. Plenty of space, full kitchen facilities, lovely cool air conditioning in living space and 2 of 3 bedrooms. The pool and backyard are wonderful, lovely space to sit out and relax. We didn't have pets, but I could see the yard was well fenced and secure if you did bring a dog. I would definitely stay again in the future.

Phil, the host, was very kind and helpful to us. The pool looked lovely and there was a barbecue area, which we used. The beach is right across the hotel. We went there to watch the sunset. The apartment was big and comfortable and the balcony area had a lovely view of the sea. I would definitely go back there again!

Located approx 400m to Horseshoe Bay. A frame hut clean & more than suitable. A definite back-backer vibe but even us 60 year olds enjoyed ourselves. Great pool & bar area where most people came for the wifi
