Quaint little town.
Quaint little town. Where we stayed in the town everything was at our finger tips, ie. easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, takeaways, parks, easy access to the expressway north & south etc. We will come back to Cambridge.

Cambridge is lovely quaint town that has a relaxed "Old English" charm [yes it also has it's own "Queen Street"] that embraces visitors wishing to explore and experience new adventures [especially cycling related - eg river trails, cycling races/tours/champs and the Avantidrome for track cyclists] whilst enjoying a variety of local cafes, eateries, bars and restaurants etc [check out the yummy turkish pitas/wraps at Kebabelicious down town]. It's very easy to navigate and get around a predominantly flat landscape by bike, foot or car. And to get there from Warkworth [just 2.5-3 hr trip now] is even easier now that the new motorway takes you to and through Auckland on to the speedy 110 kph Waikato expressway which then takes you right into the heart of Cambridge from the 2nd exit ramp [next after the Avantidrome one] via a lovely straight road past Amazon's huge spaceship-like distribtution centre - nga mihi nunui [many thanks] Cambridge - see you again real soon !! :-)

Very cute little town.
Very cute little town. Not a lot to do here but we just used it to sleep over for an event in Te Awamutu.
We stayed at the Top 10 Holiday Park which we found to be very tidy and clean for a camp ground. Would highly receommend it.
Our favourite restaurant was Hanoi Boy. The service and food were exceptional.

The room needed to be opened up and aired out before guests arrived it smelt bad when walked in. Some flyspray for the ants would be good... we used a bit of pepper and that seemed to work. The couch and dining chairs were very uncomfortable and need to be upgraded. The bed was hard and lumpy and did not sleep well..There are some birds that may be nesting on ..in..or close to the roof...that were very loud in the morning and woke us up. The TV was small and where placed was hard to watch from the couch.

The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. Nice shop owners.
The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. Nice shop owners. Nice open park areas and interesting shops and exhibitions. Very friendly and helpful staff in the information centre. Good variety of restaurants and food available.
We stayed here for 2 nights and were completely satisfied. We have been traveling for 6 weeks, previously 3 weeks in Hawaii and it was one of the best places to stay for the price. The beds are comfortable, the host very friendly. Everything was clean and nicely furnished. It's nice and quiet on site and you can hear the birds chirping. We also liked Cambridge, where the host gave us good tips for restaurants and excursions.
Cambridge Retreat was an excellent place to spend our first night in New Zealand. Margaret made us feel so welcome. She not only gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner - which was a very short away but also gave us several ideas of places to visit whilst on the north island. Some of which we have already done and have enjoyed immensely.
Our room was great as was our breakfast.
Thank you Margaret for a great stay.
Site layout attractive. Being a bit out of town very relaxing and peaceful.
Rooms very clean and well furnished. Beds v comfortable.
Excellent cooling heat pump.
Owner very friendly.
Close to Cambridge.
Pet friendly (even though we didn't bring our dogs this stay)
Will recommend to others. Would have The Podium as first choice when we visit the area again.
The hotel was spotless and well cared for.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast was very good quality with a great choice of options.
The beds were very comfy but a choice of pillows would be good as I like a pillow with more loft.
The grounds surrounding the hotel were beautiful
Great find in Cambridge. Beautiful building. Nice large room, spotless and nice new bathroom. The couple hosts are very welcoming. They gave us some ideas on fun places to stop on our way to Matamata. Breakfast was amazing, with coffee ,tea, juice and a variety of breakfast items. Highly recommended.
Breakfast basic/adequate ~ Accommodation located on a Main Highway required care in entering property/crossing over road when approaching from the South and ditto in the absence of an illuminated sign problematic in locating in the evening driving from Cambridge after dark...
Beautiful old “guest house” close to the town & shops. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable with an excellent en suite. Our host was friendly and welcoming. The “continental” breakfast was delicious. We’ll definitely stay again should we visit Cambridge.
Suite was nicely organised - we had big bed, seating area and separate space with kitchinette. Some food was provided.
The view to farmland, greenery and animals outside. My kid could feed and pet alpaca :)
Location is close to Cambridge and 20min to Hobbiton.
The hotel was in a good location in terms of being close to the shopping centre . The room was spacious & comfortable . Having a sliding door onto a very narrow verandah meant that you could get fresh air. This looked into a mown area surrounded by trees .
The accommodation was ideal, very well outfitted. The location was ideal, in the countryside but just 10 minutes from the town of Cambridge and 15 minutes from Hobbiton. Mike and Cai were very helpful hosts. Amongst the best places we have ever stayed at.
The house is beautiful and set in the rolling hills outside of Cambridge. Our hosts were even better. From the moment we arrived we were treated as honored guests. They hit the balance between attentive and relaxed.
It far exceeded expectations. After staying at several hotels during the previous fee weeks this was a very welcome surprise. The staff and facilities were excellent.
Beautiful villas in a peaceful rural setting only a short drive from Cambridge town centre . Nice stylish decor and plenty of room . Really comfortable warm room.
Beautiful property, clean and tidy with lots of space. Lovely hosts and good communication.
Great location, close to the main centre of Cambridge and quiet.
