La Riviera Guesthouse, hotel in Riverton

Situated in Riverton, in a historic building, 40 km from Rugby Park Stadium, La Riviera Guesthouse is a recently renovated guest house with a garden and terrace.

I got the ground-floor room with the garden patio and enjoyed the view of the beautifully kept garden and the river beyond. Loved the character of the place overall and interesting decor - bed was so prettily made up it seemed a shame to get in it and disturb it. Great location, everything I needed in easy walking distance. Big private parking area. Friendly and welcoming staff (owner was away, I was greeted by her helper).

Beautiful and quiet seaside town with the majority of shops open on the weekend. Plenty of beach spots, lots of parking, everything you need close by. Only a short drive of less than 30 minutes from Invercargill.

Riverton is a great beach holiday spot for travelers exploring the deep South. There's a handful of cafes, a nice restaurant and a couple of takeaway food options. It's a nice relaxing small coastal town.

We loved all we saw of Riverton & the area. We ate at home, purchased food at the well stocked Super Value. Yes, it was easy to get around the cute wee town. Visiting the wee beaches in the area was fun.

Nice place, friendly people, did not stay long enough to rate it properly, would go back if had a chance. Could only find fish and chip shop to eat at and that was about to close so could not get what we wanted but what we got was a generous amount. By

Shop keepers all friendly and chatty.

Shop keepers all friendly and chatty. Riverton still has a lovely old New Zealand small town vibe. We loved watching the sea and all its moods, also enjoyed the rugged landscape in the area. One issue was few cafe's and resturants open on Monday the 4th of Jan.

If you like boats and walks on the beach this is the place for you. Great little cafes. The main street had alot of closed down shops (Prob due to covid) which is a shame. Dress for all seasons, but even gorgeous with snow to sea level. Certainly 2 parts to Riverton..
