Kobern-Gondorf is pretty, lying among vineyards with views from the highpoints above the village across the Mosel valley. There are various places of interest within the village as well as a nice market place with bar/restaurants. It was a handy place to stay at a good price, given that equivalent accommodation was twice as expensive in Koblenz and Cochem. Train services were very good and competitively priced.

We had apartment style rooms, which consisted of 3 bedrooms and a bathroom connected by a private corridor (no kitchen). Comfy beds. Breakfast was excellent (fresh rolls!) (unfortunately, only German coffee, not strong). From the hotel, it was a short walk to the Moselle. By following the footpath on the river bank, you can walk to the next village which has restaurants and a supermarket. We had a lovely stay and would return.

Breakfast provided was very good bearing in mind there were few guests. We didn't eat at the hotel but the dining area looked a very nice place to eat with tables outside when weather permits. Quite a nice comfortable stay for a couple of nights.

Since we like hiking early, a small apartment is more convenient than hotels, and allows us to have facilities like the kitchen. The apartment is very simple, but had all we needed for a short stay. The place is also quiet.

This is on the top floor with 3 windows overlooking the fabulous town square. There must be few hotels in the world with such a nice view over a market square. I had to notify them that I would be arriving later than expected and they were still there to check-in. Will definitely use them again
