The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished.
The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished. The area was filled with abandoned and run down buildings. The downtown area wasn’t bad, but everything else surrounding it was beyond terrible. We found an amazing restaurant downtown. 10 South Rooftop-it was the only highlight of our trip there.

The city is old and run down.
The city is old and run down. There are several empty parking decks. There are a few decent restaurants & boutiques downtown. The military park is beautiful. I would suggest a short stay or day trip.

It would have been fine but management at motel 6 accuse me of suspicious activity and told me that I had to leave the property without any evidence that I was doing anything illegal which I wasn't and I need to go the right way about a lawsuit

The sites were nice. My favorite was the McRaven House.
The sites were nice. My favorite was the McRaven House. I enjoyed all the history at the CocaCola museum the old Courthouse and other sites. The park was sad but fascinating. I would recommend The Walnut House to go eat. I didn't really like our hotel. There were roaches in our room. We had to go out and buy bugspray. I was very disappointed in the people from Vicksburg. I can count on one hand how many friendly people we encountered. There are no souvenir shops. The only places to get them were at the places we visited. Other than that I would recommend Vicksburg as a place to visit.

Depending on what time you get to Vicksburg, the traffic...
Depending on what time you get to Vicksburg, the traffic will either be heavy or light. Vicksburg is a historical area for Mississippians which provides many museums. When traveling, it was heavy traffic from around 10am-6pm. Sometimes breaks between would be light. Although Vicksburg is a tourist area, I noticed so much trash all around on the ground. If others cared, they would help to clean it up. Littering is not pleasant to look at and it's horrible for the environment.

It has been a while since we had been in Vicksburg.
It has been a while since we had been in Vicksburg. After checking into lovely Steele Cottage, we walked across the street and had lunch at Walnut Hills Restaurant. After a tour across town and a little shopping, we had drinks at the 10 South Bar and Grill where there were amazing views of Vicksburg and the Mississippi River. Later in the evening we had dinner at Beechwood. A very cool place. Enjoyed a very good steak dinner and cocktails. A wonderful breakfast at Duff-Green mansion on Sunday morning hosted by a wonderful friendly staff. Had a nice visit with people from England and Connecticut. It was interesting to hear their take on the Deep South! We drove through the Battlefields and was deeply reminded of the part that Vicksburg played in the Civil War.
It was so interesting see this area so well preserved and to think about what it must have been like during the war. Our time was short, but we plan to return to Vicksburg to do some more exploring.
My wife and myself knew beforehand that the Bazsinsky B&B was centrally located in Vicksburg. What we did NOT know was how quiet the location would be. The building was beautifully decorated with antique furniture and art work. An elevator to our spacious room helped with our luggage. BUT what was most special was the conversions with our host (Andrew) on arrival and over his excellent breakfasts. We both learnt so much about the town of Vicksburg and the history of the Bazsinsky house itself. So much different from any hotel!
Usually when I see an ambulance in front of a business I take it as a bad sign. As I checked in I came to understand a guest was having some stomach distress and medical aid had been summoned. A desk clerk was comforting the patient throughout and showed genuine concern for his well being. I don't think too much about what I would do if I became ill while on a trip but if I ever do I hope I am staying in Vicksburg at the Super8.
Would highly recommend. Had exceptional service! The owner and staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. The Bed and Breakfast was clean and bed were comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Definitely a great location for comfort food! Staff helped with things to do around Vicksburg! Close to museums and attractions.
We stayed in Vicksburg to tour the National Military Battlefield (which was really, really well done), and the proximity to this location was excellent.
The best thing about the rooms were that the were warm without being too hot.
I loved the rustic feel of the family suite we stayed in on the 3rd floor. Very roomy and comfortable! Nice and quiet because it’s the only room on the 3rd floor! If we visit Vicksburg again we will definitely be staying again!
Very clean. Seems new. Great place to stay on the way to Orange Beach. The downtown area is close by and very cute. It is hard to find a place to fit a family of 5. Great hotel and great place to stay on the way to the gulf.
The handicap roll-in shower was as advertised. They had added no skid squares to the shower floor. An issue we have had
with other roll-in showers in other hotels. Plenty or space in room for a wheelchair to maneuver.
The food truck was nice, the casino was OK and only one ATM worked, and the staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful and the location was good but you couldn’t get to the water or see much on the first floor.
We loved the location and our view overlooking the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt like they went beyond what was expected to make us comfortable. The hotel and casino were very clean.
What an atmosphere! A beautiful, special place in which to spend a night. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely and helpful. This was a combined hotel and historical tour experience.
Extremely charming and very elegant hotel and with an economy price. It was very quiet and comfortable. The decor was beautifully executed and we loved everything about our stay.
