Tugboat Inn, hotel in Southport

Situated in Boothbay Harbor, this waterfront hotel offers a full-service restaurant and on-site marina.

It was the last day of the season and the entire town was closing down for winter so restaurants and such were a bit of a challenge but the accommodations were comfortable and well maintained and the staff was excellent.

Coveside Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Southport

Coveside Bed & Breakfast offers accommodation in Georgetown, on the coast of Maine, 47 km from Portland. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site.

Truly lovely spot, quiet and secluded. Not for swimming but on the high tide you can kayak about. Low tide is really a mud flat.

    Really nice area in Maine.

Really nice area in Maine. We visited many historical sites and the botanical gardens. All very close by. We enjoyed Boothbay Harbor were we shopped and took a sailing cruise. The restaurants are abundant and live entertainment at night. Grocery stores close by and convenient.

Southport is a quiet coastal community next to Boothbay Harbor. There is a road that loops around the island, with many secondary roads that lead to housing conclaves. Architecture is typical New England, with some homes achieving impressive size and design. The small "village" of Southport includes a general store, post office, and town hall. "Quaint" is the first descriptor that comes to mind. Hendricks Point Beach can also be found here.

We loved our private deck that was right at the oceans edge, the hot breakfast included daily had ,fresh scrambled eggs, fluffy blueberry pancakes, sausages&bacon, fresh fruits&an assortment of fresh pastries&breads, coffee, tea, juices& more& was all you can eat. There were many activities on the property among them a large outdoor swimming pool, free use of canoes, paddle boats&kayaks.A small microwave in the room would have been nice although there was one in the breakfast pavilion that guests could use.

    Southport is beautiful.

Southport is beautiful. Ocean Gate Resort in Southport is old and decrepit. It was damp, our exterior entry door was open when we arrived. The room smelled strongly of mildew. The tiny refrigerator that was provided was sitting on the carpeted floor and you had to get on your hands and knees to access it. The carpet should have been replaced 20 years ago. The heating vent in the bathroom appeared to have had a fire at one time, and it had not been cleaned or replaced. The beds were damp. The screen door for the entry door was missing, but the hinges were still attached. Breakfast didnt start until 8 am. which was useless because we needed to check out at that time. The registration office was not open at 8 :00 am and there was no place to leave our keys. The building was locked. The telephone in the room had a dial tone, but it would not connect to registration or front desk. OCEAN GATE is just a tired smelly old place that should be closed. It was a complete disappointment. Save yourself from this nasty old place that may have been nice at one point in its history, but is now rotting away.

We love the inn and grounds. It is beautiful and tranquil.

We love the inn and grounds. It is beautiful and tranquil. There are outdoor games such as shuffleboard and corn hole there if you want a little more activity. It was a little cool for swimming. There is a fire pit to warm oneself while enjoying the out of doors. Bring a book for after dinner entertainment. The dining room has entertainment on some nights. The service at dinner was good, but the dinner itself was a disappointment. We would return again, but we would think twice about eating dinner there.

The house was very well laid out with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs and a master bedroom and 2 baths downstairs. The kitchen was large and well equipped. There was a large deck with a seating area and patio table. Plenty of hand soap and toiletries were provided. The property was convenient to Southport and the Boothbay area and very quiet. There was a gas grill but no propane.

The location was so picturesque. A little difficult to find a west facing property on the Maine coast. Newagen Seaside Inn had a sign directing you to the best spot. The restaurant menu had a small but varied collection and wine list was good. We enjoyed our 2 nights there extensively and our days exploring the Boothbay and Southport area of Maine.

The location of the hotel and all the surrounding area is out of this world! All the staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all in beautiful scenery. The room was great, very clean, and the balcony gave us a lovely sea view. Restaurant food was good if a little pricey.

The room was great! we stayed at the Island View cottage and we had a shared patio with nice views. Loved all the amenities in the hotel, unfortunately didn't get to use them all but they have heated pool, free mini golf, free rentals of kayaks, stand up paddle boards and canoes. Free breakfast was great too!

Was scared to get breakfast! Called about no hot water in room they said let it run it takes time 40 mins. Two showers later 13 dollars off! Not good not putting money into upkeep! Loaded hotel making money 150 for a bed cold shower. Never will return. Room was not even ready at 4 pm arrival

The check-in process was really easy and the staff provided with outstanding information about the resort. We were able to use the canoes to go explore the bay and island near the hotel. The seclusion of the hotel is another awesome thing about this hotel.

Our room was over the kitchen and breakfast area and was very noisy in the afternoon and until 10 pm. Would not recommend this hotel and will never go back. They should have at least told us about the noise.
