This was my first stop in Owensboro.
This was my first stop in Owensboro. I was so impressed with the riverfront area. It's beautiful and the grands really enjoyed Smothers Park and the Science and History Museum. Lots of options for food and shopping and no major traffic to fight. I would enjoy a trip back with just the hubby! A great weekend getaway spot.

I was eaten by bedbugs and I think it was intentional because my room was changed without request and I was told it was an “upgrade”. I wouldn’t recommend Owensboro because the person that helped us (my husband and myself) was friendly but deceitful. I didn’t appreciate her “southern charm”, it was not genuine.

We were primary there for Romp Fest which was awesome!
We were primary there for Romp Fest which was awesome! The Bluegrass Hall of Fame is not to be missed. We also discovered many pleasant surprises. The riverfront boardwalk is an experience all in itself. There was live music "Friday after 5", Live music on Saturdays from 7-9 pm. Smothers park & playground will delight the little guys for hours. Enjoyed a quiet moment on a porch swing watching the sunset on the Ohio River. Visited 3 great restaurant's. Feta's pizza, Moonlite BBQ, and had a great breakfast at Dee's diner. Cooled down with a cocktail at Brasher's Pub (also a great place for music). Owensboro has done a great job. Every place we visited was walkable, clean, safe, and staffed with some of the finest people you will ever meet. We will be back!

I grew up in Owensboro and enjoyed my time there, for a high school reunion. The city has grown up in a good way, is still changing and going through some of the pains of change (lots of empty buildings), but most neighborhoods look good, and the schools look great.

Great Family Friendly town!!!
Great Family Friendly town!!! Very, very, very clean highways and town!! No litter. Very friendly locals!! ALWAYS FELT SAFE!!!! Unlike other big cities!! Very Patriotic and LOVED Moonlight Barbeque Inn. Great town to take your family and feel safe and secure!!
Nice clean room and facilities especially for the price. You could definitely tell it used to be a five-star place but it is aging.
The club noise permeating through the rest of the hotel will definitely irritate people who need complete silence, But with the TV on it was barely noticeable to me.
If you're looking for top tier hotel, this place is not for you.
If you're looking for a fairly priced room in a place that's not falling down or in a bad part of town, this is definitely the place for you.
The front desk area was under remodeling, no breakfast, Which we were told was due to Covid. However the other hotels in the area that had their breakfast buffets and pools open. The ice and soda machines were broken, there was no information about the TV channels, there was very few towels, the bathtub faucet leaked really bad and the exhaust fan had a hole in the ceiling around it. I had to have our room keys reset a couple of times each day! it also had poor parking arrangements.
The best hotel for Owensboro's Friday After 5 party. Its' right in the middle of the action, and the hotel restaurant Lure is one of the 5 band locations. Huge rooms, helpful staff, comfy beds, great view of the Ohio River, nice pool and breakfast. Next to wonderful Smother's Park and the very walkable riverfront with all of its light and fountain shows. Lovely foyer too!
Location good, thank God, as not much to eat at hotel. The complimentary "breakfast: was a paper bag and a bottle of water. "Restaurant (?) not open on weekends. If the ammenties are not available on weekends...why should the $150/night price be maintained? No newspaper on Sunday? Why not. I would expect one at $150 per night!!!!
For the money and the value of this hotel (star- rating) everything was great. The staff was welcoming and also very good at accommodating my questions and needs. I definitely will stay here again when I am in the region. A plus for this location is that there are a lot of restaurants and retail in the area.
Hotel was very close to Owensboro Community and Technical College. Quiet. Very nice Lobby. Smooth check in. Bed very comfortable Good coffee in breakfast bar. Room on first floor. .... and Chik Filet was just around the corner ***
Well, in this hotel you have everything you need! We came all the way from Belgium to see our friends in town. the staff welcomed us with open arms, the rooms were spacious and clean our whole stay and the breakfast was tasty! We'll be back for sure!
The hotel should be condemned. We drove 8 hours for an archery tournament and the hotel was so dirty and bug infested we checked out immediately. We ended up sleeping in the truck because there were no other hotels available at a reasonable price.
I’m used to staying in five star hotels, but Owensboro doesn’t have any, so I made die with what I could find. This really wasn’t a bad hotel at all, but I would describe it as mediocre. The staff was very polite and friendly.
This is a terrific place to stay, modern, clean, great facilities and friendly and helpful staff… We will definitely look for Wingfield hotels during the remainder of our road trip….
We loved everything about the service and employees at The Hotel and Restaurant. Our Room was fantastic and We absolutely loved Our View of The River and Fireworks on 4th of July.
Front desk staff was very nice checking in and out. Easy access to the elevator. The room was older but remodeled. Better than a motel, but the little sis of $$ hotels.
Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Our first trip to Owensboro and staff helped with directions. Hotel is clean and room was comfortable. Would recommend.
Staff is first-rate and accommodating. Loved the rooms (clean and quite comfortable) and the general accommodations. Hotel was clean and well-provisioned.
