The property was located by the sea so the views from the restaurants were absolutely beautiful.
The food was very nice and there was a sufficient amount of choice. We always felt satisfied at meal times.
The room showers had steam machines within them which basically transformed the shower into a private steam room. This was a very pleasant surprise. We also had a jacuzzi on the balcony.

April is windy, but pleasant sunshine, no rain at all.
April is windy, but pleasant sunshine, no rain at all. The roads have no pavements so be careful, but there is a little train doing a circuit around with a get-on, get off system, which is good. Shops are incredibly reasonable and include some beautifully made table linens, clothes, towels, olive wood products and hand made gifts.

Very pretty small town on the seaside with easy access from shopping streets to its beach. You can find lots of cafes along the beach and it's a free access. The cafes' staff is friendly and helps you even if you do not buy there anything. The souvenirs are cheaper than in Heraklion, i.e. fridge magnets started from EUR1. Whereas in Heraklion it starts from EUR1.5-2, and all clothing and shoes as well. It also has Leather Jackets shops and even Fur & Real Leather Factory Shops, but not on the main street, or Market in Heraklion. The sellers are friendly and happy to bargain.
Good choice of anthric style ceramic vases and crockery for reasonable price. Dresses more expensive than in England.

Great for pubs and bars with people shouting at you that they have a table for you - all good humoured but after a while it got a bit irritating. Is not recommend it if you are looking for a traditional Greek holiday spot - could have been anywhere! Totally recommend if you like bars, clubs and sports on the TV.

It’s become very touristy.
It’s become very touristy. All shops and restaurants are for tourists. A bit difficult to find good authentic Cretan restaurants. Very friendly people and still offers good value for money. If you go to the beach invest in some footwear as the reef can be difficult to navigate with bare feet when going for a swim. The water is nice and warm and very clear. Beautiful to swim in. A lot of restaurants to choose from and most are ok. If you like clubs and bars there are plenty to choose from. But if you like quieter places there are still a good number to choose from so don’t let those clubs put you off. Overall I would recommend for people to go as it’s got plenty of options for different types of holidays, family, beach and romance for example.

We chose this place due to the fact we wanted to visit the east part of the island and we wanted to come by the bus.
On the other hand, the overall area is way too busy for us and we didn’t enjoy almost anything to the fullest.
The beaches are very small and packed by the sunbeds. There is like 30cm between each sunbed and some people were smoking - so basically the beaches are annoyingly crowdy and you don’t have much space for yourself.
Then there are way too many restaurants and they are all playing loud music so while you sit and you enjoy your meal you have to listen to multiple different songs coming from all those restaurants around.
I can imagine this place to be favourite by younger people (if it was cheaper then some other towns in Crete - but it is not). I can’t imagine to come here with some small kids.
Absolutely stunning resort. It's huge and there's a lot of amenities. Pools, bars, restaurants, gym, spa, kids playgrounds, waterpark (in the neighboring Lyttos Beach hotel). Really a lot of things to keep you entertained and to let you enjoy the summer and the sun. The hotel has a private beach which is pretty nice. The hotel staff was really really friendly and helpful. They all speak English and it was really a pleasure being around them. Evening entertainment was great, especially for the kids - they loved it.
Experience the pinnacle of hospitality at Arminda Hotel in Crete! Renowned for its exceptional service and dedicated staff, every moment spent here is infused with a touch of luxury. The value for money you receive is unparalleled, ensuring a truly rewarding stay. Immerse yourself in the pristine and spotlessly clean surroundings, allowing you to fully unwind and rejuvenate. The amazing staff members go above and beyond, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that will make your stay truly unforgettable.
This is a hidden gem of a place, all the staff are lovely very friendly and helpful,
I was in one of the older rooms but had no complaints it was spotless and large and the bed was the best I’ve slept in in Crete. The only thing I didn’t like was the dreaded shower curtain but definitely not a dealbreaker.
A lovely selection for breakfast (not too keen on the coffee ) only because I prefer a barista style coffee.
The pool doesn’t get much sun at this time of the year.
It’s so beautifully designed with stunning views of the island and the sea. You can see how much effort has gone into creating a sense of calm for the guests. The staff are warm, friendly and super helpful. The hotel is family friendly and all the outdoor pools are heated which rarely happens in Crete. The food is truly Mediterranean and thoughtfully made. The desserts were awesome and were like works of art. It felt like eating out when we had dinner there.
A very adorable place to enjoy the holidays. The sea is very close to a well-equipped beach and entertainment. Staff who are a local family, nice and helpful. Food just brilliant! Fresh, homemade and tasty. It was a great pleasure that breakfast was served in a beautiful flowering courtyard near the pool. If we go back to Crete, we'll be in the same place. Thank Paul and Marie for a lovely rest.
Everything was perfect. From the small item to the large one. Everything is designed on a different level
The service, the food, the pools and the atmosphere.
There is a 5 la carte restaurants. It was a gourmet experience. You dont need to go out for a dinner.
I have not been to other hotels in Crete, but it seems to me that it is one of the best hotels not only in Crete but in all of Greece.
Best hotel I've been to. 5 star employees. I don't think I've ever been treated so well as at the Nema Hotel. The facilities, the food, the location are excellent. And again, the employees are always willing to help and go beyond expectations. When I return to Crete I will stay at Nema 100% I was sorry to leave. It was a fantastic week
The hotel is new, good mattress, good access to information via TV set. They also provide Rituals cosmetics which is a plus. The manager (man) was very supportive and tried to do his best to provide comfortable stay, even offered complimentary bottle of wine. The pool and terrace on top are lovely, totally worth it.
Family run small hotel with swimming pool and small garden. Next to not-so-busy street. Easy to get out on highway to see all of Crete. Fantastic breakfasts homemade by Tina - best of greek cousine, homemade jams + evergreens for kids (tosts, nutella). Tina, thank you for your hospitality and help with flat tire ;)
We loved the view from the balcony of the apartment, it was directly on the sea. The room was a little bit compact but we believe it is amazing value for the money we spent. It was perfect for a couple. We had such a lovely time and will definitely come back to Villa Sonia if we come back to Crete.
the room was spacious and clean. shower had amazing water pressure and hot water. the pool and bar area are very nice. the family that runs the place is so kind. breakfast is amazing! just a few minutes walk from beach and town, so easy access to everything but in a quiet area. highly recommend!
We travelled around Crete and this hotel was far the best one
Very friendly and welcoming staff with a lot of good recommendations
Breakfast was fantastic
We have booked a room with sea view - was really amazing
Would very much recommend this hotel - love it!!
This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Crete. Amazing location, views , facilities, service and food. Leagues above and beyond anything else we saw in the city. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended....
Very nice room, clean and wonderful view from the balcony! The staff is friendly and Veronique makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in.
Staying here has really added something special to our visit to Crete!
The hotel was amazing. Very clean and modern. We had a hot tub and outdoor seating area. Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great facilities, the Spa was amazing.
