    We enjoyed Gote Bay.

We enjoyed Gote Bay. But in mid-October there isn't much to do or see in the town itself. We felt like the last people on Earth driving through the town! Haha. But, in the summer, its booming with tourists.

Only an overnight stay on our way to Elliot Lake via the Georgian Bay ferry as a mini vacation. Had never been on the "island" before. Gore BAy itself was a had a very small town atmosphere with everything you would need in the area. Dined at the 1890 Restaurant which was excellent.

Gore Bay was not the focus of our trip since we wanted to explore more of the island. However it seemed to be a good location to get to Kagawong and to Providence Bay. We enjoyed a great pizza dinner on the deck of Buoys Eatery listening to very pleasant guitar and song. Finding breakfast in Manitoulin was always an adventure. Many websites were misleading. It would have been a good chance to experience the meteor shower and Gore Bay would have been a good observation spot. But we were all too tired after full days of exploring.

Charming little town, great view of the lake.

Charming little town, great view of the lake. Everything you would need. All the stores on the island close much earlier than at home. Make sure you get everything you need earlier in the day. Gore Bay is beautiful ! The Rocky racoon Cafe/restaurant has amazing staff and food @ a great price. Definitely worth a visit :)
