its not resort, in 5 days i saw maybe 15 tourist there, in the beach we were only ones, no loud bars no gogo etc. you can just peacefully relax, cheap food, also night market, can take bicycle and cycle around (dont choose main roads) nice countryside with few traffic, probably it would be good idea to rent scooter or car to explorer more, i just spent 5 days, 2 days used bicycle (20+60km) just cycled and discovered no itenaryRein - 10Scored 10

One night only is too short. I extended my stay. The town is not big, but after many big and noisy places this place is perfect. No mad traffic. Lots of very nice restaurants and cafes. Nature, mountains, monkeys (two types black and brown, gentle and less friendly :) :) :) Easy to arrive here with the train.

Smallish but charming provincial town. Easy to reach via train. Good food markets including a daily one near the clock tower and a Friday-Saturday market along the waterfront. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs to keep you busy, many good quality coffee shops, and a general laid back and friendly feel. Not really a beach getaway destination, but if you are looking for a few days of easy-going comfort at a great price, this might be the place for you.

The beach at Ao Mango is beautiful but very shallow, at Prachuap itself the beach looks nice as well though especially towards the north of the town - there were not many swimmers at all though so not sure how good it is for swimming. There was a big festival / fair for Sonkran taking up the entire city seafront, I am not sure how busy / quite it is normally.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

A beautiful bay with shallow water for swimming. Hardly any waves. The town is small and while it has some features like hotels and eateries to attract tourists, it is not a 100% tourist orientated town. If you don't like the big time holiday resorts with high-rise hotels, like Hua Lin, Prachuap Khiri Khin is a good option. Beach is very close to the town. A good evening market alongside the beach. You can walk just about anywhere. The rail station is close to town and the bus station only a little bit farther. You won't see it on the destination boards but all the trains up and down the main line south from Bangkok, stop there.

The room was very nicely decorated, the cleanest I have stayed in, including 5 star hotels in Bangkok Jack and Bua were brilliant, welcoming hosts and directed us to an excellent Thai seafood restaurant only 50m away. We want to explore the area more so are sure to visit again as soon as we can. This is the best beach hotel I have stayed in for a very long time, a great place to relax and unwind with dramatic limestone cliffs and a fishing harbor just a few meters away.

The town, Prachuap Khiri Khan, is a perfect spot to explore the mainland of Thailand with fantastic beaches and tasty foods but without thousands of foreigners.
