A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
We stayed here for a long weekend for the Tarbert Music Festival. We stayed in the top apartment which was brilliant. 2 double bedrooms, a twin room, shower room and small sitting room. Great location, right in the middle of Tarbert. Great choice for breakfast and the staff were very nice and helpful. We've booked up again for the Music Festival next year. Thanks you to Marian and the staff at the Frigate.
We stayed at the moorings as we had a wedding nearby at Crear. The moorings is in the perfect location in Tarbert overlooking the harbour yet far enough away that you can’t hear the main street in the evening. Andrew was an excellent host, his house is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. He makes a mean breakfast in the morning which I would highly recommend.
This was a hotel/restaurant with rooms above the restaurant. Had a beautiful view of the bay right outside the window. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi connection was decent. Check-in/check-out was easy. Not a huge selection for breakfast, but I had one of the best smoked salmon with scrambled eggs there.
Our hosts were wonderful. The room was a delight overlooking the fishing harbour of Tarbert. One could spend hours watching the coming and goings. Breakfast was wonderful - and when we said we didn’t eat bangers and bacon we were offered lively Scottish smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Breakfast was good quality and presented very well. Mexican porridge was a surprise, and was delicious. Dining room filled with interesting articles. Contributed to a “homely” feel. Seeing boats and yachts moving in the harbour was a bonus.
Superb location close but not too close to Tarbert harbour and with stunningly views. A lovely house with a calm welcoming feel, creatively and eclectically furnished. Martyn the owner was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would recommend
The location was excellent in Tarbert. Lovely position by the harbour within walking distance of restaurants and pubs. The shower was good once you figured it out. Overall we enjoyed our stay because Tarbet was a lovely friendly base
TV channel selection was good.

Location of Hotel excellent.
Staff: friendly enough and did they did try.
Room: comfortable feel.
COVID-19: good signage and adherence to protocol and restrictions.
The Starfish Rooms and very well situated in the lovely Tarbert Harbour ,I didn`t use the restaurant because of the COVID rules , but it looks very nice indeed , the staff were very nice , the room clean and well presented ,
Tarbert is such a great seaside town and our room overlooked the Harbour and was so clean. We only had a quick night due to a ferry we had to catch but we wished we had booked an extra night to check out the area more.
Location in Tarbet was perfect for our overnight stay before the ferry. Room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Had nice bathroom and good views over the harbour.
Friendly owner, clean room and shower. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous location just on the edge of Tarbert.
There was a handy lean-to to keep my bike out of the weather.
The location is excellent, very convenient for all Tarbert has to offer in terms of shops, bars and restaurants.
Great views of the harbour area from our room.
Spacious, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location with access to Stonefield Castle grounds for forest and shoreline walks. Dogs were very happy!
