From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view.
Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly.
We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Good location for the many walks near by.
Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

We really enjoyed Lynton.
We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

A small and friendly cliff side town with a wonderful cliff railway and a tea shop selling the very best cream teas in all the surrounding area. Ample parking in a large convenient carpark to the town with many shops and facilities.
My room had a stunning view of the church and coastline. It was clean and as described. The hotel was also brilliantly located–I was able to trek out to the Valley of Rocks directly from the front door! There were also several restaurants and shops close by.
I was a bit worried about Wifi, as I was working remotely while traveling, and was not disappointed. As of Oct 2022, the connection was strong enough to sustain Zoom meetings with multiple participants (I did not screen share, but suspect it would have worked all right).
Wow you don't find places like this very often. Immaculate 5 star service from start to finish and the most comprehensive breakfast choice I have ever had the pleasure of choosing from. A very imposing three story house in a prime position with commanding views over the Lynton and the coast beyond. The bed and mattress were heavenly. Robert worked really hard at all times to make the stay a comfortable and safe one. Thank you very much indeed.
Very comfortable bed, lovely clean room, excellent breakfast , the yoghurt with muesli and berries offered as a no charge extra was yummy. The home made marmalade was to die for! Probably the best breakfast dining experience I have ever had.
Phill and Ness went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable, such a lovely couple.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Rockvale house as a base to explore North Devon .

The location was perfect for exploring Lynton. Our host Drew was very helpful in suggesting a nearby restaurant and booking a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding! We thought parking on the street would be a problem, but after 4pm, spaces conveniently opened up. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
Breakfast was excellent. Room very comfortable with a fantastic view. Parking was good. Location was great for walking into Lynton and Lynmouth . Valley of Rocks and Watersmeet both wonderful walks. Peter was very friendly and obliging Lovely terrace with an incredible view . Ideal location for restaurants.
Love Wood Cottage and location. I owned this property early 2000’s. Lived next door No 47 for 21 years. Cottage situation is ideal for shops and food venues. Fantastic walks in Lynton and Lynmouth. The property is adequate if four people were staying all decent sized rooms. Lovely patio at the rear.
Location was stunning facing the woodlands and with the sound of river Lyn / Lovely self contained flat, beautiful terrace, very well furnished, easy to walk to Lynton or Lynmouth. Bonus: they even had a bottle of wine for guests. Michelle and Lee are stunning hosts. Great holiday we had.
After walking to 2 Moors way (117 miles) The Valley of The Rocks was just wonderful. The staff so friendly including Isabella at the front desk. The Seaview room more than I could ask. We didn't know Lynton and Lynmouth really, but we will now return for a long weekend.
Great location for hiking and likes the quietness of the hotel yet it’s close to Lynmouth and Lynton. Food and local ales were very good. Great welcoming atmosphere. The owners work hard to ensure the guests enjoy their stay. Would definitely return.
Host very obliging and friendly. Very clean throughout. Marvelous location for walking the North Devon bit of Exmoor. Old 17th century farmhouse with much character. Great views from bedroom of distant Brendon Common. Very , very peaceful.
We loved the location.a short walk along a tarmacked path into Lynton and for the intrepid a few steps from a great walk to Watersmeet. An absolute Gem National trust T Room on the river to break the round trip.
Luxurious b&b perched on a hill overlooking Lynton and Lynmouth. The hosts have thought of every little extra to make your stay more comfortable. Great breakfast; go with an appetite, you'll need it.
