The hotel was fantastic- cozy, inviting and delicious food. There was a fire in the fireplace on the chilly evenings. Breakfast was wonderful, and Debby, the associate, was helpful, gracious and kind. We would definitely return in the future.

Keswick is a pleasant town in the Lake District beside Derwent Water. Plenty of restaurants and pubs. There is a market on Thursdays. The Pencil Museum is worth a visit, small but full of interesting facts on the manufacture and use of all types of pencil. The circular boat trip around Derwent Water is a pleasant way to spend an hour.

The countryside around Keswick is beautiful.
The countryside around Keswick is beautiful. The views from Catbells are fantastic and it is a relatively easy climb, but VERY busy and almost a procession. The Pencil Museum was brilliant, really interesting and well done, we had a quiz sheet to complete, and it enhanced the experience. The town was busy, but not unpleasantly so, there are lots of independent shops and cafes. We also went to a play at the Theatre at the Lake, which is a lovely venue. The Keswick Museum is small but interesting.

A good range of restaurants and cafes.
A good range of restaurants and cafes. Keswick is well placed as a base to explore the Lake District and local stores contained all items you might need whether looking for an energetic or leisurely experience.
This refurbished former station hotel offers quality rooms in a quiet yet central location, 5 mins walk from the town centre and surrounded by parkland. The staff were all extremely pleasant, helpful and polite. Whilst we didn't eat at the hotel, the restaurant and bar seemed popular. A very pleasant experience in the heart of Keswick, yet detached from the hustle and bustle of the town. We really enjoyed our stay.
Room was good size, comfortable, large bathroom with great hot shower. Breakfast was lovely nothing too much trouble. Great! Stayed here previously rooms never disappoint! We had dinner in the hotel both nights and could not fault the food! Always friendly love Braithwaite. Ample parking near our room. Every room is also dog friendly.
Breakfast always delicious. Paul was very friendly and helpful in recommending us good restaurants and walking routes. Despite the predictably awful weather in the lakes in November we had a fab time exploring Derwentwater.
The B&B is close to Keswick town centre, easy to find and has lovely views of the River Greta and Skiddaw.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient describes Silverdale. The parking situation was so easy with private parking available. Mark was a fantastic host in every way! Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay at Silverdale were we fortunate enough to visit beautiful Keswick again!
The hotel and its location are very good for accessing the countryside as well as the town of Keswick. Town was only 5 mins walk away and the lake 5-10 mins walk.
It was lovely and quiet for sleeping. Much better than trying to sleep in town centre.
Breakfast choices are very good.

Host very nice and can't do enough for you
Even though location was about 5-10 mins away from town centre it was quiet. Breakfast was easy to order, presented on a hot plate and food tasted lovely. Overall impression though, I was struck at how immaculately clean the premises were maintained.
Lovely location not to fair from the town centre and the views where amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for you from entering the building the hole experience of staying in the hotel was beautiful, thank you to all the staff.
Beautiful conservatory and grounds. Good bones of a hotel- back in the day I bet it was gorgeous and the place to be! Absolutely perfect location, such a short walk to Keswick town centre (1/2 a mile along a beautiful footpath).
Both the hotel and the location were great! Keswick is a quaint, beautiful place and there’s lots to do. We spent a lot of time hiking in the Lake District and the hotel prepared delicious picnic lunches for us in advance.
Lovely hotel with a good spa and really nice restaurants. Beautiful location right on the lake, and only a short drive to Keswick town centre. Friendly staff and really comfortable beds, would definitely stay again!
Paul is a brilliant host, he couldn't be more helpful and his breakfasts were excellent. The location is near to the town centre and easy for parking.
Will certainly go again at some point.
The George Hotel is a great little inn in picturesque Keswick... we had an excellent stay. The food in the pub was delicious. The rooms were spacious and airy. Would definitely stay again!
