A beautiful place with loads of history, however mid september mid week is probably no the best time to visit, as the attractions close early and the castle does not open until midday. Few restaurants to choose from in an evening as some only open weekends!

Vadstena is special to me because it was the home of Saint Birgitta of Sweden, it is a beautiful medieval town, and it is on the banks of a large and lovely lake. There are a number of things to see, e.g., the castle, the klosterkyrka, the kloster museum, the Martin Skinnare house, the mental health museum, the city museum. The kitchen has all we needed, the bedroom is quiet and has a very comfortable bed. And last, but not least, the host, Joel, is the nicest person.
