This is a quiet little town with enough charm for a single night, but no more. All the people are friendly and English-speaking. When one of the restaurants was closed, the owner directed us to another one where they informed us the kitchen was closing within 11 minutes and asked us to expedite our order, which was nice to know so we didn't go hungry. The dining room overlooked an enticing garden area. It's the ideal romantic getaway, and in fact there was a newly married Dutch couple among the guests. Our host served a bountiful, tasty breakfast, and was so very helpful in giving advice about Giethoorn (thank you Jaap!), as well as being accommodating about check-in and check-out instructions. I would come back again and again.

It locates at the main square and the shopping area of the district, so It is really easy to find something to eat. The traditional decoration of my room It's fantastic! The staff are nice and helpful. The restaurant of the hotel is inviting, I wish I could have a chance to have dinner there, ( It was fully booked because of it popularity)

I slept in a boxed bed. It also functions as a tea and coffee shop. Twenty minute walk to the train station and buses. The location is the biggest advantage because it's hard to get place to stay near the center of Steenwijk.
