Buren is a small village, but Ameland is also a small island...
Buren is a small village, but Ameland is also a small island, so you cannot expect large towns here. Very nice nature, as in all Ameland. Large dunes, where you can bike or take a walk... Beautiful beaches with lots of sand... Beach restaurant (we did not visit it due to covid19)... Ameland is small, so we biked through all the island during our 4 days stay: one day to one side, another day to another side. Good restaurants to order meal. We reccomend to try fish restaurant Str. Anders and Italiand meal restaurant De Branding. Meal was delicisious.EgleNetherlands - 10Scored 10

Ameland gets mixed reviews but it is hard to see why, beautiful old villages with lots of history, beautiful nature, plenty of options for fresh and good quality food and clean, wide and quite empty beaches with (temperature wise) swimmable water, hard to beat!TonyUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0
Cute little town.
Cute little town. There is really nothing to do there and that's the whole point. Rent an e-bike (a normal bicycle can be tough when facing a headwind) and cycle around the island - enjoy the restaurants, bars and beaches. It's a relaxing place and that's what it's for!

The personnel was very friendly and pro-actively helpful! They offered and arranged for us to have two rooms next to each other. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The bar has a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was varied, fresh and tasty.

Breakfast was delivered in baskets, one for each room and there was space on the balcony or on the outside terrace to have breakfast. We had to leave very early because we had the ferry appointment and the hotel arranged for us to have the last day's breakfast to go.
