Wander Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Haikou.

The best thing about the hostel is the location, right bang in the centre of the old city. Plenty of restaurants around, and most sightseeing in the city can be done on foot. We stayed in a Deluxe Japanese Style Queen Room. The room was clean, all toiletries and clean towels provided, and most importantly it was very quiet. The bed was also very very comfortable, so we were able to have a good sleep after long tiring days. The shower was also good with hot water available at all times. As the property is at the edge of the pedestrian street, it was very convenient to get taxis also. Overall a good stay, I would stay here again on my next visit to Haikou. Highly recommended!

    The design of the hotel is very unique? the hotel makes people feel at home: especially the servce of Jenny Wang at the front desk is very good. very good!!! Also very enthusiastic teach me how to take a taxi!!! And fruit twice. Thank yju so mach!!! Moon cakes are also recommended!!! Very delicious! Five-star service!!! Ten- stars for Janny Wang!!! Free sea view room for us, you can enjoy the sea view notfar away, live in a hotel preferred hotel.

    Every meal was a feast!

    Every meal was a feast! Three meals per day, 6 days in Haikou and never a repeat restaurant. We rode the train for 4 1/2 hours - roundtrip from East Haikou and back, visited all major parks along the ocean each morning and watched the seniors busying themselves to stay healthy, was @ a site compared to our Sea World in California, down south to Sanya, and several large shopping malls...even checked out a couple of Starbucks(which was quite expensive for just a cup of coffee). Our original plan was 5 nites, but had to extend an additional night because CX cancel our original date of return to the States and request we leave Haaikou a day earlier than planned. We didn't want to loose our prepaid night w/Booking,com & there's NO refund for early check out. Instead we opt to stay the extra night. We will check w/CX to see if they would cover the cost or share part of the expense for the night. CX/KA = Cathay Pacific/Cathay Dragon

    Easy and very cheap bus system to use if you happen to have...

    Easy and very cheap bus system to use if you happen to have connectivity and use Google Maps. Old Quilou Street and the Hainan Museum are a highlight to visit in this city. The Tomb of Hairou was on heavy remodelation while visiting on May 2019. Highly recommended to walk at night in the parks and see the locals engaged in group dancing. Be careful with scooters everywhere (including pavement!). Walk calm through these.

    Easy to get around by taxi.

    Easy to get around by taxi. Cheap and plenty of shopping and food. You’ll need to know a bit of Mandarin to get by as English standard still not as high as in the north. Tropical weather basically, despite a slight cooling at the end of the year, I’ve never had to bring a coat. The locals though, would bundle up in winter clothes when I’d walk around comfortably in shorts and a singlet. Very strange to observe.

    Excellent location (walking distance to restaurants, bar and tourist spots), cleanliness, service and staffs. Special thanks to Lio and 小谭 in assisting me with my appeal for refund as I was not able to reach the hotel on the first day of my reservation due to an unforeseen circumstances. They were considerate, polite, warm and indeed very helpful. I was absolutely impressed and satisfied with their excellent customer service. Will definitely go back on my next trip to Haikou.

    Good value for money, good location, less than10 minutes drive from Meilan Airport. Easy to take bus to city heart. Easy to reach airport but even no noise of planes. No breakfast, luckily convenient to find food nearby. Room is big and clean, actually it's in four residential blocks, managed by a local hotel brand. Staff are friendly. If not expect high, it's a good choice for airport accommodation.

    Stylish hotel with comfortable facilities. Breakfast is excellent, with a very wide range of foods available. Staff are very attentive and helpful. On arriving home, I realised I had forgotten my electric toothbrush. With one call to the customer service desk, a helpful and friendly staff member was able to find the item and send it to me by courier. Thank you Aurora, truly five star service.

    A really nice hostel with a location and price that can't be beat. Enjoyed the old neighborhood, walkable with many local restaurants and shops just minutes away. Facility was very modern with nice selection of coffee and snacks for purchase in the lobby. Would stay again if in Haikou.

    Location was very central and close to the major railway station. Room was clean and was sufficient for a short stay. Restaurant next door had great food - not particularly cheap though. Staff did their best to understand me and be helpful. Brought out the adventurous spirit in me!

    Breakfast was a comfy bento size box with local delicacies. It also helped that it was served directly to the room at my pre-determined timing. It was also nice that the staff were able to arrange transport to the airport for no additional cost.

    Clean comfortable hotel at the central location of Haikou. Staff was very friendly. Although I am not sure if they speak English, as we communicated in Chinese. Have free laundry service and free parking on site which is very convenient.

    Conveniently located at the airport with access by shuttle bus which takes 2 minutes. The standard room comfortable with an above average bathroom which included a separate toilet. Bottled water was provided in the room.

    Absolutely amazing stay. The staff was very polite and helpful, made me feel like at home. The food was fine, the view was just awesome. The beach is 10 mins walking and was almost empty. Would definitely come back.

    FABULOUS. Great location, lovely staff, spotlessly clean, nice room, good breakfast, comfortable bed. Perfect. Already booked again! Will never stay anywhere else in Haikou. Forget those silly expensive places!
