Hotels near The Rock

The Rock is a small country town with friendly locals. It is clean and tidy. Most community activity occurs at the bowling club which provides evening meals and liquid refreshments. The club together with shops etc are all located in the main street. There are camping facilities at the sports field which provide showers and toilets. There is a hotel about 500 metres from the main street on the Olympic Highway, but its facilities are poor and I do not recommend them. The hotel has an adjoining motel with basic clean facilities, but often there is no staff on duty there to assist. Booking a room through the hotel phone number can be difficult because no one usually answers the phone and when you leave a message on the answering machine, noone returns your call. If you book through Booking.com again you have limited opportunity to speak to anyone. One of the main features of the town is The Rock itself which is a large rock formation and when viewed from certain angles looks like a resting lion. There is a walking track to the top of The Rock which gives great views of the plains. There are a number of other interesting towns in the area which are worth visiting.
