Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around. Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

    We absolutely loved Stanley!

We absolutely loved Stanley! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Marley's @ Sticks & Stones, Shells & Bones and then caught the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. We loved the sensational views from the summit and did the 45 minute walk around the top. We saw a couple of pademelons too. At sunset, we went down to the beach to wait for the penguins to come in from the sea. We saw loads of them and they were so cute! We also had a visit to Highfields House and enjoyed exploring all the rooms in the exquisitely restored mansion and reading up on all the history. There's lots to do in Stanley.

The Seaview Inn is located on the outskirts of Stanley village center, offering beautiful views of the ocean and "the Nut" The staff on arrival and departure were warm and friendly and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We stayed in top floor accommodation which offered the best views of this stunning location. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. There was also a well stocked mini bar and an adorable stuffed penguin you can purchase as a memory of your trip to Stanley.

Everything about this property was excellent. It delivered everything it promised. While some accommodation looks good in the photos but is disappointing when you arrive this was not one of them. The property provided everything you could need. The view was stunning, the location perfect and the neighbourhood was quiet. The walking path was right out the front, the beach just a few steps further and a stroll to the Stanley Hotel for an excellent evening meal was a delight.

Stanely is a beautiful place. The park is well situated to beaches, a town, a golf course, and fairy penquins come in on dusk as well as during the night wallabies come into the park. Most essentials are catered for. Modern furniture and facilities. An IGA supermarket is next door. The best of all is the scenic bay next to the park. It just has a lovely old-world charm in the village streets. A Heritage town of nthwest Tasmania.

The town of Stanley is quaint and lovely. The apartment was sparkling clean. The views were amazing. There are several decks and sliding glass doors to look out over the sea. Everything is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the sea to look for the penguins at night and see the wallabies on the streets after sunset. The hotel was enjoyable to sit and have a drink and converse with the people in the town.

Fabulous location with a great view of Stanley. We loved the breakfast options provided, and the amenities (full kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, washing machine and dryer, spa bath overlooking the view, comfortable king sized bed) and the small touches like the local chocolates on arrival and flexible check-in. We're already talking about coming back to Tasmania just to spend more time staying here!

It was so tastefully appointed whilst still maintaining the original character and history of the property. Everything seemed to be considered for travelers to give the most memorable experience of Stanley (luxury lounge area, beautiful garden under the nut!) whilst also providing practical facilities (Laundry, Gym, bikes)

The location at the base of the Nut was a highlight. Within walking distance to the main street and the path to walk up the Nut. The property faces back in to the bay, which one bedroom faces. Lots of nesting birds (quiet at night) and you can see the tide change. Stanley was probably my favourite place in Tasmania.

We stayed in Sea Salt House for two nights. Beautifully comfortable bed with luxurious linens. Exceptionally close to the shops (highly recommend Stanley Hotel and the Providore), and a short walk to the Nut. Although the house could do with a bit of a spring clean, we loved staying here.
