Saltwater River is a remote location and will suit those who want to 'get away from everything'. It is a quiet retreat with both beaches and bush. It is driving distance from some of South Tassie's treasures (Port Arthur, Tasman National Park, Fortescue Bay (and some spectacular walks), Remarkable Cave, Tesselated Pavement, Devil's Kitchen, Blowhole). The accommodation was ok for a short stay ,but bed rooms and bathrooms too small for a family , the property was well equipped and clean , Very quiet and scenic and about 15 Km from Port Arthur along a country road and 5Km from the old coal mines . their is no town at saltwater river only a small corner shop as you drive to the accommodation so you have to drive to Port A. or back towards Eaglehawk Neck to find a restaurant or an IGA .nevilleAustralia
