Oatlands is a gorgeous little town, full of character, textured and varied. You really need to take a little time to get to know it and discover all its gems, some out in the open, some a little more hidden. I visited for the first time in December last year, spent a little longer this time and thus had the opportunity to savour it a bit more. Sublime, beautiful, this is a really special town, I still haven't done everything and I look forward to visiting again.

A beautifully maintained historic village with a large number of buildings classified by the National Trust. Most buildings are in the local sandstone and are maintained and presented in excellent condition. There are many boards on buildings with a brief history of year built, original owner and initial use. A very well presented historic village.

We stayed at Oatlands as it was the last night before we flew out of Hobart airport; there is only an hour's drive from Oatlands to the airport. We didn't want to stay in Hobart again, and it meant we were able to spend our last few days travelling down the Heritage Highway. We recommend seeing Oatlands, but in retrospect would choose Ross or Richmond to stay overnight.
It looks like a new cottage, beautifully finished. had everything you would need for your stay, with a few little extras. it was like a home away from home. would definitely stay there next time. large beautiful bathroom and shower. kitchen and combined dining and lounge area were small but all you need. tv reception was good. we had a cold snap and the heating was very effective and easy to use. a few blocks away for the main street.
thank you dee for sharing this wonderful property. the kentish hotel had great food for dinner.
Breakfast was not included - we had our own. It was a studio room, the beds and bedding were excellent, as were all bathroom fixtures and fittings, and useful things such as a coffee machine, iron, ironing board, hairdryer etc provided.
We enjoyed our stay there, close to lots of interesting galleries and shops in Oatlands, and would certainly recommend Robinson Cottage, and stay there again.
My 3x great grandmother was married to the man who built Robinson Cottage in 1837 so it was a delight to stay in a cottage that my family potentially lived in or visited! The cottage was delightful, with brand new kitchen and bathrooms and a comfy lounge room. We appreciated the period furniture and paintings to give it a historic feel, whilst still having all the mod cons!
Beautifully appointed, well designed, snuggy digs, set in a beautiful garden in the heart of heritage Oatlands. Perfect for a weekend away or longer! Nothing to want for, generous quality provisions, you would be happy and content to not even leave this little gem but for the delightful draw of Oatlands’ attractions. Even the resident chickens are gorgeous!
The location is fantastic for Oatlands attractions. We went for lovely morning and afternoon walks and everyone we met was very friendly. The accommodation was perfect to come back to with a well stocked kitchen and IGA a few minutes down the road for supplies. Beds were very comfortable. Would recommend!!
Location was good, just a few short km’s out of Oatlands so very easy to pop back to Oatlands to further explore.
The host and wife were very informative about the area and also able to advise us on our next days journey to port Arthur. Lovely comfortable bed and everything we needed for the night.
The accommodation was quite spacious and and perfect for the 3 nights we needed to stay in Oatlands. Location is main street, and everything is in reasonable walking distance...weather permitting.
Oatlands is a great spot and has plenty to offer. Wine bar, cafe, beautiful surroundings. Oatlands retreat was great value for money and a great cozy spot to call home for a couple of days.
