A Loft In The Mill Boutique Accommodation, hotel in Kallista

This 4.5-star, award-winning property is located opposite Olinda Village, at the top of the Dandenong Ranges. The Puffing Billy Railway and Yarra Valley’s wineries are 15 minutes' drive away.

Olinda is a wonderful area and A Loft In The Mill suited perfectly. The loft suite was lovely for my husband, our adult daughter, and me. The heater was on to welcome us on a chilly late arrival our first night. The provisions for simple breakfasts were just right for our two mornings there. On our checkout day we also indulged in a massage at Nourish Spa on site, which was so nice.

Arcadia Cottages, hotel in Kallista

Arcadia Cottages is set on a 3 acre property surrounded by native forest and gardens. It offers self-contained cottages with a fireplace and a spa bath. Guests enjoy free on-site parking and a day...

We stayed in the forest cottage and it was so cute and exactly what we needed for our little getaway, it was nestled up the back of the property which made it feel even more secluded. All the photos from the website are pretty accurate and I’m sad I didn’t really take any of my own as the grounds are stunning. The spa in that room was the selling point for us and it did not let us down, we spent a lot of our time in there just admiring the beauty of our surroundings. We were greeted by Jessica when we arrived who was so friendly and accommodating, we were lucky enough to receive some treats she’d freshly baked and they were so tasty. She showed us around and gave us a few good places to visit as well as just a good conversation before she left us to enjoy. We truly felt looked after

We liked local walks and saw some lyre birds. We visited gardens, nurseries, lookouts and walking tracks. We easily filled our time and enjoyed a picnic one day and visited a cafe another day. Cold raining weather was not really a problem.

The accommodation was very comfortable, cosy and relaxing.

The accommodation was very comfortable, cosy and relaxing. I was impressed with the cleanliness, and the attention to detail like chocolates on the towl, fruit in the fruit bowl, a selection of high quality teas and coffee. The hosts were most welcoming and maintained our privacy making us feel very at home. The northfacing view was spectular.

Kallista is a beautiful are and we spent almost half a day at one of the local galleries. There was fantastic food and coffee available at the Kallista Deli and plenty of short bush walks. The area is also very close to other tourist areas such as Olinda and Sassafras.
