The Botanical gardens is a treat especially with its link to the Mlebourne Botanical Gardens and its root stock from Riddells Creek north of Melbourne. Hamilton is a lovely place to visit not too far from the coast (Portland/Warrnambool) and the Grampians. Don't forget to visit the Lemon Myrtle Cafe for some great home cooking as everything is prepared on site even the sausage rolls. Lots of parking in the main street and behind the shops. A trip to the Lake is well worth the visit. At the right time Platypus have been spotted at the creek.

Motel was terrible
We did not stay there.
Motel was terrible
We did not stay there. Didn't matter we paid...put it down to experience. Booking.com should remove it from their listing. We have relied on places listed there but Caledonian was a complete and utter disappointment

We only needed a place to lay our heads for the night to break a long trip. I have spent a lot of time visiting Hamilton over the years. It is an attractive rural centre with all the needed facilities.

Hamilton is lovely, with many places to go and see.
Hamilton is lovely, with many places to go and see. We went to the Hamilton Central for an evening meal. Great steaks and the choices were varied. Had a beautiful lunch at the Hamilton Hamper - coffees and sandwiches were very enjoyable. Everywhere we shopped the staff were friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for. We enjoyed ourselves.
Nice easy to find location within easy walking distance of the main town and easy to drive to other locations of interest.
I came specifically to visit the art gallery.
The motel had a fridge, toaster, plates etc which would have been beaut if I had stayed longer. Everything was clean and tidy.
The motel/hotel had a live band (On Saturday night anyway) which you could have enjoyed if you liked their style (I was too old to appreciate it)
The bistro was good and I enjoyed my meal :)
Staff were very helpful and courteous :)
Suited our needs for the reason we visited Hamilton. Close enough to city centre and even closer to a Hotel and the Sports Leisure Centre. Host Andrew very friendly and helpful. I used to stay at this place back in the mid seventies and was amazed at the modern transformation reno's. Next time in Hamilton I'll be booking there again. Showers, fantastic pressure and no cold water dramas.
An extremely comfortable stay at this large motel, with rooms to match - lovely large living area with, for a change, a great sofa, not the usual vinyl offering. The outlook was also extremely pleasant, on to a garden, with the whole motel set in a quadrangle. Quiet position, and very handy to everything. Definitely would stay again when in Hamilton.
A beautiful location and property, doubling up as a b&b and winery. It was nice to chat with Jen and Andrew, and go play with the pets. Very scenic, quiet, and peaceful, definitely a spot to stay for a few nights to relax and unwind. It’s close to Hamilton and the Grampians which is another added benefit.
The location was fabulous. Very quiet and peaceful. The room was well equipped. The gardens were lovely. Our hosts were very helpful with information on where to go, not only in Hamilton and surrounds but also gave us some useful tips about what we should see on the next leg of our journey.
Room was clean and very well set out, had all necessities. Layout of hotel was good - easy access to the pool from every room. Room was very good size - plenty of space. Plenty of room to park a car and trailer (we tow a race car).
Hamilton Lakeside Motel is a gem. The room was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, and quiet. The shower was delightful and the room also has a small bath. The location is great too as it is not far from the town centre
Plenty of parking space, very clean renovated room. Easy to find along the Hamilton to Ballarat road near the edge of town. Lots of outside tables and chairs for guests.
Such a gem- excellent value for money, hyperclean rooms, comfortable bed, great shower in a modern bathroom. Great location in the heart of Hamilton. Terry was a delight!
