Auburn is a quiet village at the southern end of the Clare valley which makes it a great base for winery adventures and walking around - it is on the Riesling trail. There is a pub and a restaurant as well as a supermarket. The Rising Sun hotel does good dinners (just don’t expect your rare steak to come rare).

Auburn is known as the Gateway to the Clare Valley Wine Region. Very handy base to visit multiple wineries & small, historic hamlets in the Valley. The Terrior Auburn Restaurant is a must-try experience!

We had an overnight stay in Auburn for a quick business trip, so we weren't there to look around at all. However, it is obviously a beautiful area! We had dinner at Sevenhill Hotel - fantastic venue. Our accommodation at Lyreen's was excellent and we will be remembering this B&B for future visits.

Auburn is ideally close to Clare, is at the start of the Reisling Trail, has a great little supermarket and a really nice vibe. Add to that we stayed at the amazing 'Cullen House', a perfect little piece of paradise. All made for an amazing, romantic weekend away.

So central to everything in the Clare Valley.

So central to everything in the Clare Valley. Very easy to get aroundv- in fact we usually walked from our accommodation to the main street. The Riesling / Rattler Trail starts in Auburn at the old Railway Station.

The house was wonderful with the wood fire in the lounge and gorgeous views from the deck. The house was very well equipped, from making toasted sandwiches for lunch, playing pictionary or choosing a movie on Netflix, the owner had set up the house to make us feel very much at home. Most days we rode our bikes along the Riesling trail, explored out the back gate along the Wakefield River with our dogs, or visited cellar doors in the main street of Auburn. One day we drove into Clare and Mintaro for some more great adventures with our 4yr old.

Great location, accommodation off the main street but close to so many great little interesting places. We stayed as 3x couples and it was perfect. The girls went to the gin joint and the boys went to watch the Crows have a win in the front bar in front of a great fire at the Rising Sun Hotel, We then stayed for a great pub meal at the https://www.therisingsunhotel.com.au/

Auburn Hideaway is delightful! The beds are very comfortable, the wood fire warms the house very quickly and adds to the ambience, the location is very quiet and picturesque and the bird life is wonderful. The complimentary port, cheese and crackers, shortbread biscuits and chocolates were much appreciated. Milk and orange juice was also supplied.

Breakfast was included in the price of the apartment and was excellent. A large bowl of fruit was also included whish we found was a nice touch. The apartment was well located for day trips in the Clare Valley and close to the lovely town of Auburn. Finally the gardens surrounding the apartment were magnificent and a delight to wander thru.
