Small town with friendly locals with good local hotel. Has small grocery shop for necessary items but only limited groceries. Town has a bakery and takeaway shop. Local hotel The Snow Goose serves good food at reasonable prices. All locals were very friendly.

Lovely town would have liked to have more time to explore. Had lunch at THE Bake House (try the burgers and chicken with gravy rolls, amazing) bought home made jams too. Lovely friendly staff. Approx 45 min drive to Selwyn

Great small town to base your family when visiting Selwyn on a modest budget. Ampol in Adaminaby provides park passes, ski hire and snow chains - all you need for your trip to the snow. Snowgoose hotel (local pub) had great meals too, particularly the Thai options. Beautiful scenery and the big trout!

The area is a mecca for hikers, cross country skiers (when there is snow!), fisher folk, motorcyclists and horse riders. The town itself is small and quiet which suits me, but being a 'new' planned township it lacks character and sadly, some services. Had the community in Old Adaminaby insist on the town being moved a small distance from the rising waters of Lake Eucumbene, then the area would've inherited a very attractive resort-style settlement with style and character plus. As it is, 'new Adaminaby' needs quality services and an aesthetic make-over to attract more travellers.

The ratings for this property were low so my expectations were also low but I needed somewhere in Adaminaby. The accommodation was not flash or new but it was comfortable and provided all that we needed at a reasonable price. We did need to ask for coffee cups as there were none in the room but they were willingly provided along with some very tasty new seasons cherries. No restaurant or bar on-site but both available just up the road

We love coming to Old Adaminaby. It was only a short stay but it was great we stayed in the Bungalows they were cosy but the mattress was too thin, although was great value for money.
