Really nice town & though we only passed through on our way to walk the Humpridge track we had a wander & found the Info centre staff very helpful. Would imagine it will get busier once the Humpridge becomes a great walk.

    A lovely quaint town.

A lovely quaint town. Just enjoyed the 1.3km walk from LLL so pretty and peaceful. Coffee shop opposite Humpridge office was great, host very friendly coffee and food very nice. Wandered around the small township very cute. Worth a stop even if just for a cuppa.

Tuatapere is a small town, but is within easy driving reach of other similar towns. there appears to be adequate facilities there, e.g Four square shop, a Hotel/cafe which appears to be the local 'meeting place.' the town had a comfortable feeling about it.

Wonderful service location to complete the Hump Ridge Track with warm & friendly locals. Thumbs up for the well stocked supermarket. A pocket of paradise 😃 with plenty of sights & interesting places to visit. The coast line is filled with many surprises & mystery - take a bucket to Gem Beach. I'm so proud to be a Kiwi 😆

Tuatapere is the centre for exploring the Waiau River from sea to Manapouri. It is easy to visit Lake Hauroko and the giant Totara forest from there, and it is also worth spending time in the village which feature a fabulous gallery, native garden, and bush walks from the Domain and Cemetery. We enjoyed meals at the Last Light Lodge who were able to cater to vegans.
