Portmarnock itself beautiful. Safe beach, great walk between Portmarnock and Malahide and great golf. Can recommend Lali’s local restaurant, Jameson’s bar at the Portmarnock hotel and Malahide for bars, restaurants and retail therapy

Lovely walks along the coast, neighbouring Malahide is about a 40 minute walk where there are many great bars and restaurants. Great golf courses in Portmarnock, restaurant & bar options are limited.

We stayed here to be close to the airport because we had an early AM departure. It was an easy 15 min drive to DUB via back roads. The hotel was fabulous, the ocean views were spectacular and the room was very clean.

Fantastic location on a beautiful wide beach with wonderful walking possibilities eg 45 minutes to Malahide on coastal promenade, also great walks from Howth on headland in opposite direction, choice of 6k, 7k and 11k walks. Howth itself is a pretty fishing village with lots of fresh fish for sale and restaurants around the harbour area. Malahide Castle also a short drive with its lovely grounds and Avoca restaurant. Also a great value hotel with lots of quality and service for the money. Reception staff really helpful and breakfast super. Golf course is beautiful, quite expensive but deals available on the hotel’s website. I think the hotel would be more expensive if it had a pool and maybe tennis courts. But the beach on your doorstep makes up if the weather is good. Highly recommend, 9.5 out of 10

The location of the hotel is a significant benefit; The advantage of being so convenient to Malahide in one direction and Howth in another direction provides for additional options. The quality of meals was excellent despite the restrictions posed by the ongoing pandemic (Covid 19).

Portmarnock Hotel and Golf is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.This was our third stay and we will go again as soon as we can. Wonderful facilities, staff and surroundings. Highly recommend it to anyone
My wallet was stolen two hours before my flight left the US or Dublin. They worked with me in several small ways to minimize my discomfort and hassle until I could get enough credit cards to use. They also were pleasant to deal. all knew my name, and were happy undertaking concierge-style support activities despite there not being a working concierge. Breakfast was substantial and tasty, and I found myself having typical Irish bar-style conversations with locals two my nights there.
The hotel will store your luggage until you can check in. The room and bathroom were a decent size. There was a large closet and a dresser as well as a desk and a chair in the room. The bed, pillows, and linen were comfortable. The hotel is on the coast and I was given a room with the ocean view. The room faces the street, but was still pretty quiet. I didn't have a car, but the hotel seems to have an adequate parking lot. There is a restaurant on site.
Such a beautiful place. While we have never golfed there, the course looks wonderful. The hotel is well appointed with a nice sized bathroom which has both a bathtub and a separate stall shower. We visit Ireland frequently and have stayed here the last 4 times. it’s a convenient location close to Dublin airport and close to Malahide which has several nice restaurants.
I am originally from the village, and I have stayed frequently at the hotel. The staff were excellent, friendly, responsive and very professional. The location is wonderful, not too far from the city centre, airport as well as Malahide and Howth. Upon arrival, once we were shown our room and we expressed our unhappiness the staff upgraded us to much nicer room.
It was much better than expected. Cracking location with a stunning view and easy access to a beautiful beach. It is only rated as a 3 star hotel, personally I think it deserves 4 stars. Room was spacious and clean with excellent bathroom facilities. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and definitely book again.
Perfect location to visit family in the area. The hotel was amazing and very close to the beach.
We had a brilliant deal on the room and couldn’t believe our luck with the price. Hopefully we can take advantage of a similar discount in the future to visit again.
The location was beautiful and the hotel and food were lovely. The best part of my stay was most definitely the staff, particularly Anne on the front desk - just incredible customer service and a genuinely lovely person. The staff made the stay memorable.
Comfortable bed, plenty of storage space. Quiet hotel with clean corridors and rooms. Ate two meals, lunch an dinner: good choices very nicely cooked and presented. Breakfasts very good with very nice staff in all cases.
the views - simply amazing views of Dublin Bay. hotel is not so big but well designed and spotlessly clean. Bedrooms were big. Food was very nice and and the Guinness was exceptional.
