Most places closed in evening very limited restaurants available. Ok for one evening stay. I stayed for two weeks on business trip and had to get away the weekend, a boring place to be . The fact that it was January didn’t help, everything looks grey and miserable. The town is generally run down. Some nice small village’s to visit but how many chateau and churches can you stare at. Simply not for me .

My trip was very time limited. I could have spent a lot longer there. For such a small town, it has a lot of history and even has a hypermarket. It was a bank holiday when I was there so much of the town was closed but it was clear it had much to offer. I would love to go back for a proper visit when time permits.

We took up all of the bedrooms with a group of friends, but I’m sure if other guests were staying at the same time it would have still been splendid. Since we took up all of the rooms I was able to look at all of the rooms and they all looked just like the photos. The entire property was amazingly clean and cozy. The location in the more medieval area of Parthenay is also amazing. Highly recommended!

The host is very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with tea, coffee, bread, home baked brioche, selection of jams, fruit and yoghurt. The weather was very hot so the air conditioning in the room at night was very welcome.

Parthenay is a very interesting ancient town. Well worth a look. The swimming pool looked nice although we didn't use it. The meal in the restaurant was was delicious.
