Victoria was easily accessed, there were many markets and most people spoke English. There are frequent rain showers that lasted a few minutes which is a relief as it is hot and humid most of the time. The restaurants were great but for South Africans it worked out expensive to eat and drink. There were far too many cars on the road and simply no parking available in Victoria. lovely sights and scenery . The roads that lead over the mountain give way to absolutely breath taking views. The local busses and their drivers were a menace on the road but they provided value for money public transport.

Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too.
Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too. You'll see it all within 2 hours. The tourist offer is pretty slim at best, while any tourist related item prices are very steep. In Seychelles, it's the beaches you'll enjoy, not the city atmosphere.

Victoria is ok, but we spent most of our time renting an apartment (Villa Bella) on the North East point, which was perfect for us. The North East point is far away from any touristy areas, so you'll need a car, which I'd recommend anyways to go to the different beaches, trails, supermarket etc. So stay elsewhere than Victoria is my advice!

As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see.
As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see. It is the cultural centre of the country. But the restaurants are very average to poor.
Be prepared to pay tourist rates for everything and forget about coffee, there is none that is drinkable.
For those in a hurry, two days is enough to see Victoria.

We spent only a day in Victoria because we preferred to stay more time at Praslin and at La Digue but we have seen 3 wonderful beaches.
I think we could have spent another day in Victoria because it is big and very nice isle.
The property was clean, spacious, at the main road and beach. The departmental store and bus stop is next to the property. It was quiet and peaceful, far from the hustle bustle of the city. The staffs, Emily and Tabrez were very helpful and guided us about the Island very well as we were the first time visitors to Seychelles. Since we couldn’t get a chance to get a car on rent so we took a bus and enjoyed the island view via bus and dropped off wherever we wanted to. This gave us the liberty to enjoy on our own.
The accommodation is highly recommended!
We were given a very warm welcome and our host was very nice and flexible concerning our arrival. We were able to leave our luggage at the accommodation in the morning and walked to a small beach nearby - with beach towels from the accommodation.
The view is spectacular!
Nothing was missing in the accommodation. The kitchen is well equipped and the air conditioning in the bedrooms works perfectly.
A 20-minute walk takes you to Carana Beach, which is a dream!
We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in Glacis Heights. Brian and Beryl made us feel very welcome during the entire stay. The room was well equipped and had a good standard, and we had a great view from our private balcony towards Silhouette island. We rented a car via the hotel to explore Mahe, which is something I can highly recommend doing! There is a convenvience store nearby, and some nice beaches and a few restaurants in walking distance (book a table in advance)
Hilltop Boutique Hotel is located at the top of a steep hill just minutes ago from the center of Victoria. The staff was welcoming, helpful and warm. I arrived on a Sunday and the gent who welcomed me nicely indicated a takeaway place I could fetch food from. They also helped me organizing a very nice tour of the island with Mr Albest. The breakfast was copious and good. I personally loved the balcony which had a good view and furniture on which I spent evenings reading.
Michel holiday apartment is well located within 5 min drive from Seychelles airport.
Nearby supermarkets and groceries are accessible even at night.
It is another 15 min drive to Victoria and Eden island.
Host Ann was super friendly and helpful; the garden is maintained nicely, the apartment is clean and well maintained, have a secured private room parking.
Overall, our stay at the apartment was memorable, and I’d highly recommend especially for a family.
An absolutely wonderful place for a quiet and peaceful holiday. The hostess Mary Claire solved any question that arose. Self-catering is a huge plus. You don't feel like a guest, everything is as homey as possible. The room is cleaned every day, upon return, the smell of freshness meets. There is a bus stop nearby, from where you can get to the beaches of Anse-Royale, Baie-Lazare and Victoria.
Friendly Staff
Comfortable room
Breakfast with a lot of choices
It's not in the center of Victoria but it is in a peaceful area and is easily accessible by bus from town. Maybe one of the best accommodations on Mahé and if traveling on a budget it is totally affordable when compared to other hotels on the island. I had an excellent stay! (I had two bookings on the same trip)
This Hotel made our vacation unforgettable that’s for sure!! you would not want to leave this place!
Incredible friendly stuff, they are very very helpful and evertyhing was soo classy! we found out in the last minute we have to get PCR test before our flight and they made everything to make sure we have it in the middle of night! they were like a family for us. Thank you!
Our stay at Le Bonheur Villa has been wonderful. The swimming pool and breakfast are amazing. Chef Bernard cooks really tasty food for dinners. The villa is located in the North, close to Carana beach. It's location allows to catch the bus that travels around the island. It's also possible to arrange excursions in an easy way.
The apartments are on the top floor of this building. A quiet oasis in the midst of a busy town. The perfect location to explore victoria, a change from all the beaches! All the staff both in the office and housekeeping are extremely friendly and helpful. We couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else.
Absolutely everything.. appartment was clean, spacious, kitchen is equipped with all necessities.. Personnel was exceptionally nice and helpful.. This is the place to go when visiting Malé, we are recommending to all explorers who like to travel with bit of a comfort.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted something south of Victoria for a one night stay before we headed to the airport the following early morning. This property fit the bill perfectly. The wifi was excellent and the AC was perfect.
Walking distance to the beach, supermarket, petrol station and police station. Few minutes drive to Victoria.
It is quiet even at night. Complete kitchen facilities and stunning view from the balcony. The apartment is tidy, comfortable and new.
Ricky is such a nice host and the property is amazing. The view will leave you breathless. There’s a supermarket nearby and also a nice beach. If you’re planning to stay more than one night, my advice would be to rent a car.
we really loved the view from our room and bed. The apartment is new and well equipped. There are a lot of nice beaches in the northwest, but make sure you‘ll rent a car. we booked from our hotel and recommend it.
Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. The rooms were cleaned immaculately every day. Location was great, although recommend having a car. Rental available at hotel is required.
