This was an unexpected luxury. The rooms were very well updated, very comfortable, and quiet. I was sincerely impressed with how many modern luxuries the owner put into the room.
The owner and his son were the most laid back hosts I've ever met. They couldn't do enough to help us be comfortable.

The hotel is located at a very quiet section of Lake Como in a romantic setting, protected by several beautiful old pine trees. It's a beautiful and well kept old building is tended with lots of love and care by its owners and staff. It featured a splendid breakfast with lots of culinary options. We found the staff as well as the whole facility was more like **** than ***. It is most likely that one star got removed due to the building lacking an elevator. Everything else, including the very classy dinner that we treated ourselves to, was according to **** or even more. The view from the dining room is exceptional and gives you a true romantic holiday feeling!
It is a beautiful location in a beautiful area. Lots to see and do if you like mountains, lakes and the italian way of life. Milano nearby with good train connection Olginate is just outside of Lecco, so a bit quieter. There are cafes and shops nearby. To get to Lecco you really need a bike or car. I am told taxi's are hard to find.
