The room was so beautiful, clean and with the most comfortable bed. It’s just by the station so it’s very convenient to get to mt aso. The people at the reception desk were very friendly and printed the bus schedule for me. Thank you!

The location is fantastic. The availability of horseback riding throughout the valley was the primary reason for our selection of El Patio. The horseback riding experience was terrific. The room was large, modern, clean and very comfortable and with a nice "Western" theme style. The personnel were all very friendly and helpful.

We love Asogen, specially the meals we had for dinner and breakfast the morning after. The food quality was beyond our expectation for the price we paid for half-board. The room was nice and clean with a simple Japanese touch. The lighting in the cubical made the toilet look like an art installation! We will be happy to stay at Asogen again anytime!

My parents came to visit me from America. This was by far the best accommodation they booked for the trip. It was incredibly roomy and the beds were very comfortable (according to them). I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for accommodation in Aso. I will say that I don't know how convenient it is to get to by public transportation because I drove my car. You have a beautiful view of the mountains from the porch/front door. It's very quiet in the area. The house was incredibly clean and well-stocked (plenty of soap/shampoo, tea, and coffee).

Great views. Great trip. Only disappointment is the blue "lake" in Nakadake Crater. All the pictures show the "lake" while to my understanding it was destroyed during the 2016 earthquake. It was what drawn my attention to this location to begin with, so it was disappointing not seeing it. Unfortunately access to the crater is still prohibited due to the risk of toxic gases, but the surrounding area is impressive. For those keen on a hard nature walk you can walk up the steep trail of the neighbouring peak and look down into the crater from there. Allow a good half a day or more to do this!

Especially, it was super awesome to be able to reserve the room with the private hot springs in the balcony. It was not cheap, but it was definitely worth paying for as my wife and I could get into hot springs at any time we wanted. The staff was very polite, and the room was comfortable. It was nice to be able to choose different designs of yukata lobe. The breakfast buffet was very nice as it had many different varieties of food. We highly recommend to experience this beautiful place.

We did enjoy our room, and the private baths were amazing way to relax in the rain. We didn't have a car and there were not a lot of food options walkable from the inn. We also didn't realized to book the dinner well in advance. Would recommend making reservations for food in advance of your visit (there is a 7/11 which is a walking distance down the road). The breakfast was ample and delicious! Would stay again.

The room is clean and cozy with a window looking out to a Japanese garden. Food was exceptional! We were served homemade miso soup and home grown rice which were absolutely delicious. The property has public hot springs for men and women as well as two private hot springs. Everything you need to enjoy them is provided. The staff is amazingly patient and hospitable. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and provided with a welcome drink and snack. The staff carried my luggage up the stairs to my room. I wish I had spent more than one night here and very much look forward to returning in the future.
