It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds. Don't forget to visit the local Iron Age history museum and beautiful St.Mary's church.

A quiet town, without much to see.
A quiet town, without much to see. The Anton River canal near the old mill and the Anton lakes are the only places worth visiting, the river has ducks and swans as well. The town has supermarkets, and a train station and the distances are relatively easy to walk, even with luggage.

We visited Andover as were were going to the BSB round at Thruxton. There are lots of place to eat in Andover we opted for an Indian called Chilies, it was empty so were a bit worried but it is one of the best curries we have had in a while. Staff very polite and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend it.
The hotel, Jack Russell Fox, which is a Wetherspoons pub chain was excellent. Staff and food were what you would expect. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate.

Andover has plenty of shops to visit and all close. You can get into Basingstoke or out into the country easily. It is good distance from Overton, Bombay Sapphie worth a visit, and Thruxton if you are going top the racing.

Chute forest is tranquil with pleasant surrounding countryside, great for cycling. The pubs in the area are good offering various cuisines. The Fox Inn and The Hatchet in Lower chute are recommended to visit. Salisbury is better for shopping with the fabulous Cathedral a must to see.
It was a self check in and the property were very prompt to assist us with all the queries. The location is at the heart of Andover and there are many restaurants & bars around. With a large pedestrian shopping street. Paid parking is also nearby. We stayed here because of our trip to the Peppa Pig park , and we loved our stay. Would repeat without hesitation.
Excellent stay, Dan & his team were great in making us feel comfortable during the stay. The building is beautiful, food was delicious and bed’s were super comfortable.
If you’re visiting Andover or even a local who wants a mini escape I would highly recommend!
I've stayed at the Hawk inn each Monday for the past 3 weeks and I intend to keep booking as I believe I have found a little gem. Stephan and staff are great and are always happy, I can not recommend this hotel enough.
Booking in was fine (unless I receive another letter for parking at the hotel - computer all filled in) - breakfast & restaurant staff great - the room was good size, nice & quite, facilities ok...........
Great location, really comfortable bed, lots of space, and the room was clean and airy with lots of character... so much nicer than staying in a hotel! A tasty breakfast with locally sourced products.
The breakfast was very good and of the same standard that is found in most hotels. The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable. the hotel was nicely located in the centre of Andover.
A nice hotel in pleasant quiet location, but handy for getting in to the town centre.
Room was nice, clean and comfortable.
If visiting Andover I would definitely stay there again.
What a great hotel, so much better than a hotel chain. Staff were lovely but especially young Cory who was very hard working and entertaining. Rooms were lovely, we will come back.
THE LOCATION WAS JUST RIGHT FOR US. SORRY DID NOT SEE HARRIET TO SAY GOODBYE AND THANKS. IF COMING TO ANDOVER AGAIN WELL BE HAPPY TO STAY AGAIN. THANKS FROM THE 3 OF US. RAY
The price, the location, the staff, could not have found a better place to stay, after years of traveling to this part of Hampshire this is the best hotel we have stayed at.

They gave us the best room maybe because we stayed for 3 nights. The stuff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean. We had a very nice stay.
Very charming historic building, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, the hotel’s bar is quite cool too.
