The location was fantastic. It was 30 seconds from the Bikan area and there was a convenience store just across the road. Also, both the room and the bed were much bigger than normal for the price.

The room is spacious and tidy, it's about 2 2-minute walk after getting out of the Kurashiki station. The staff is very friendly, especially, Haruka from the front desk is easy to communicate, and provides a great service.
I recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Kurashiki.

Cute place for a day trip, or a one night stay. If you travel off season, know that the boats are only operating during the weekend. No need to spend a lot of time here, you can see most sights in a few hours. Nevertheless, a beautiful city with an impressive historical center!

From the moment we decided to stay at Temari Oitoma Inn and booked our stay there the process was seamless. So, we were off to a good start and our good luck continued. The inn was close to Bikan Historical District, less than a 10” minute walk and there were many good restaurants and shops in the same area. There are many fun and interesting things to see and do in Kurashiki and we could have stayed there another couple of days. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Super cute city.
Super cute city. You can stay half day, but fyi the station near the old center it's 1h away from Shinkansen stations. If you arrive (very) early go book a boat trip along the canal at the turist center

Kurashiki was a major disappointment, a Disney-fied "historic" town that has sold its soul to tourism - restaurants offering the same dismal fare, trinket shops, soft ice cream outlets galore and mobs of tourists lined up outside same. You can walk it all in about two hours, including your break for ice cream. Put on a straw hat and take a ride along the 200-meter long "canal" to "partake of the history". Yawn.
Definitely not worth the time when Japan has so many much better places to visit.

Kurashiki is a small town that immerses you in very authentic local life. With cute shops, an old centre and nice temple park. And if you like, a big mall and supermarket. I needed some relaxing in a smaller city and Kurashiki was just what I needed!

The main attraction here is the Bikan Kurashiki Historical Quarter. The area is nicely restored and preserved, now used as cafes, eateries, museums, and shops (tourists). It is a cozy, safe, and pleasant environment to walk around. IMHO, this is a good hang-out place for a weekend getaway. Travel a bit south to Washuzan for a stunning hilltop view of Seto Ohashi Bridge and the beautiful port town of Kojima.
Property was conveniently located in the beautiful Bikan Historical Quarter approximately 10:15 minute walk from the Kurashiki train station. I believe it is the oldest ryokan in town. It was not overly luxurious, however, it was quite clean and comfortable. Our room had a private bath and a wonderful backyard garden. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and kaiseki dinners were so tasty and very authentic Japanese.
This is a nice hotel in the historical district. The Deluxe Twin Room B was a step up from a businessman hotel -- a little larger but only a rack for a closet and slightly more room for two large suitcases and two totes. The coffee and tea service is of good quality. The view from the room in Dec is a bare-tree winter courtyard, very seasonal.
The souvenir shop is wonderful as is the food gift shop.
Everything exceeded my expectations except for a billiard table in the front lobby. It was distracting to have people shouting and laughing when we were trying to check in. Not a big problem, and we enjoyed everything including a good breakfast. Very convenient to station and Bekan district. Kurashiki is the most fun of any city I've ever visited in Japan.
This is a 4* hotel with the service, aesthetic and comfort of a 5*. A true hidden gem that is very well located next to Kurashiki's old town. The staff made me feel welcomed as soon as I stepped foot into the establishment. The food was fantastic with lots of opinions, and to top it off, a splendid roothtop view of the city. I highly recommend it!
Walking distance from Kurashiki station.
Very close to a convenient store.
The Kurashiki bikan historical quarter (tourist place) is across the street.
Less than 10 mins walking to Ohara Art Museum.
Good access to restaurants.
Afternoon tea is worth trying, with a great variety choices of tea (bags). Good relaxing pause for a trip.
Breakfast was in the small cafe in the hotel. The variety of items to choose from was plentiful, then the chef brought out plates with traditional Japanese fare. The location of the hotel made it easy to walk around to see local sights. Parking onsite was easy. The room was very clean, everything looked brand new.
Kurashki Ivy Square is a unique and attractive family-friendly hotel located on the edge of the lovely Bikan Historical District. Our room was roomy by Japanese standards, bright and cheery and well organized. The public baths are a nice addition.
Very nice Japanese style room in a restored historical building. The facilities were excellent - very tasteful and clean restoration. The room was quite spacious - unlike many hotel rooms in Japan. We wish we had stayed for more than one night!
This place is located away from any major cities and towns. Very quiet and calm.
I stayed in an ocean view Japanese style room. It was spacious for a single traveler and loved that they had a space to sit looking outside of the window.
Spacious room just like other Dormy Inn hotels.
The onsen was well equipped with a sauna, indoor & outdoor onsen.
Washing machines are available and free of charge. Dryers are available too at JPY100 for 20 minutes.
The property is located close to main shopping centres, Kurashiki Train Station and walking distance to Bikan the historical quarter.
The property manager was kind and responsive when a small issue occurred.
We loved the location only a few hundred meters from the canal in Kurashiki-Bikan. Vary quiet area. Close to the train station. The breakfast was a tasty egg salad sandwich and musli with yoghurt.
Location was superb. As far as hostels go, Hostel Cuore Kurashiki is a cut above the rest. It has a bar, a very good restaurant and a cosy social area. The staff were uniformly excellent.
Front clerk at the hotel was really kind to check in. I carried my child in my arm and had several baggage. The guy helped us to check in and to use elevator.
the single room is very small and the wallpaper is dirty but the bathroom is new and clean. An old Japanese management style hotel for people who wanna try
